Manuel Chua reveals his mother is his number one fan

Manuel Chua continues to enjoy his celebrity status brought about by his successful stint as a Participante in Pinoy Fear Factor: Argentina, South America. Despite losing in the reality stunt show, Manuel won the hearts of Kapamilyas and he has been tapped to star as one of the leading men in Precious Hearts Romances presents Bud Brothers. ABS-CBN.com interviewed Manuel on the set of Bud Brothers where he revealed how he enjoyed taping with the other stars of the show. “Masaya kapag shooting lalo na kapag buo kaming Bud Brothers. Kulitan lang kaming lahat. Bonded talaga kami. ‘Yung friendship naming lahat ang pinakatine-treasure ko dito. Dahil sa samahan namin nagiging madali ‘yung trabaho. Nung simula tahimik lang ako kasi syempre nahihiya pa ako dahil ako ‘yung baguhan. Pero nung tumagal naging okay naman kasi friendly naman sina Jake Cuenca, si John Prats. Hindi ka naman nila ia-out of place. Mabait silang lahat. Close talaga kaming lahat pero bihira naming makasama si Rafael Rosell kasi laging sa hiwalay na unit siya.”

The cast of the afternoon teleserye was recently changed, and instead of being partnered with fellow Participante Janna Dominguez, Manuel’s leading lady will be the sexy Wowowee host Valerie Concepcion. He admitted that at first he was sad that he won’t get to work with his close friend Janna, but eventually though, he was excited to be working with Valerie after they did a workshop together. “Nakapag-workshop na kami ni Valerie. Sa tingin ko siya ‘yung aalalay sa akin (laughs). Kasi ako ‘yung mahiyain, madalas nilang napapansin kapag nagshu-shoot na. Ang dami ko pa talagang dapat i-improve. Lagi kong binabasa ‘yung script at nagpa-practice ako kasi syempre ayoko namang maging problema kapag nasa shoot na.”

Manuel told ABS-CBN.com that he was feeling nervous about his upcoming kissing scene and love scene with Valerie. But with the help of their top notch directors in Bud Brothers, Manuel believes he can pull the scene through. “Hindi ko nga alam kung may kissing scene o love scene ako dito, mukhang wala (laughs). Pero hindi ko naman iniisip masyado. May tiwala naman ako sa mga direktor namin na aalalayan nila kami kapag nandun na sa eksena na ‘yun. Magagaling lahat ng direktor namin. Nakakatuwa kasi dito lang sa Bud Brothers iba’t ibang direktor na ‘yung nakatrabaho ko. Sina Direk Jerry Sineneng, Cathy Garcia Molina, Don Cuaresma, Erik Reyes. Bongga, sabi nga nila (laughs).”

Being an actor was never the main goal of Manuel when he joined PFF. All that this appliance store owner from Cabanatuan wanted was to play and take home the grand prize for his daughter. Manuel then shared that ever since he was a child, his mother would tell him that he will become a star, an idea that Manuel thought was impossible. “Nanay ko talaga ang may gusto na mag-artista ako. Pinasok niya ko sa modeling school kasi nga gusto niya akong mag-model e hindi naman ako nakukuha kasi kulang ako sa height (laughs). Kaya masayang masaya siya nung nakasali ako sa Fear Factor. Kapag napapanood niya ako sinasabi niya magiging artista ako pero hindi naman talaga nagsi-sink in sa utak ko. Hindi naman talaga sa ayaw ko pero naisip ko lang na malabong mabigyan ako ng chance. Ngayon tuwang tuwa siya. Minsan tumatawag siya sa akin nakikibalita kung ano na ginagawa ko o kung kamusta na ako.”

Aside from Bud Brothers, Manuel will soon begin taping for George & Cecil where he will play a close friend to Judy Ann Santos. He will also have a cameo appearance in And I Love You So, the upcoming movie of Bea Alonzo and Sam Milby. Manuel told ABS-CBN.com that he feels very blessed to be given all these projects, and so as not to disappoint his fans and the management, he is doing his best to improve his skills and learn more. “Kapag napapagod ako minsan ramdam ko na na artista na ako (laughs). Pero enjoy naman lalo na ‘yung mga positive feedbacks. Sa mga negative naman dun ako natututo, mas napapagbuti ko ‘yung acting ko. Sinusubukan ko din makipag-usap sa mga katrabaho ko para may matutunan din ako sa kanila. Kahit anong project okay ako, basta may trabaho. Sabi ko nga sa handler ko kahit anong trabaho ibigay nila sa akin para malaman ko kung saan ako pwedeng mag-excel. Ngayon nakakapag-adjust na ako sa schedule at sa iba’t ibang taong nakakatrabaho ko. Learning process ito para sa akin at alam kong marami pa akong dapat matutunan. Sa aming Bud Brothers ako lang talaga ang walang acting experience. Pero sinusubukan ko talagang maging loose at natural sa harap ng camera.”

Jommy Teotico admits that his love life is not his priority at the moment

Masayang masaya si Jommy Teotico sa kanyang first Boracay experience at hindi lang siya nag-enjoy sa pristine white beaches dito kundi napasabak pa siya sa mga challenges dahil kasali siya sa watersports event ng 14th GOMA Cup. “Yung Goma cup first experience, masaya kasi parang ang dami mong na-meet na bagong tao tapos yung games sobrang nakakapagod, yung frisbee nag enjoy ako. Ang saya kasi yun yung gusto ko mga kakaibang game.”

Masuwerte din ang team nila na naging champion sa watersports. “Kami yung champion. Yung game mahirap na masaya kasi mahirap parang di kami tumitigil sa pagtakbo sobrang nakakapagod siya pero yun naman nanalo kami so nawala yung pagod.” Pero di ba sanay na siya sa mga nakakapagod at kakaibang sa challenges sa Pinoy Fear Factor? “Sabi po nila nung bago kami mag-join kayang kaya nyo na yan ah kasi yung ginawa niyo sa Pinoy Fear Factor matitindi yung stunts so yun din medyo ok na pero medyo di siya ganun kadali kasi sobrang nakakapagod.” Trip to CamSur (Camarines Sur) for 4 days and 3 nights ang napanalunan ng kanilang team.

Sa lovelife naman, hindi pa daw ito pumasok sa isipan niya dahil baka mapunta lang sa paghihiwalay ang pakikipagrelasyon niya dahil sa dami ng kanyang commitments. “Wala mga friends lang, wala kasi mahirap rin parang pag mag-commit ka wala ka ng time so yun mag-aaway lang. Yun negosyo inaasikao ko rin tapos trabaho.”

Pero hindi ba niya kayang pagsabayin ang lovelife at trabaho? “Puwedeng pagsabayin pero minimal yung time na makukuha so minsan hahanapin ka tapos nasa trabaho ka minsan sasabihin nagpapalusot ka. May trabaho ka may negosyo ka, mahirap. Walang lovelife talaga as in girlfriend wala.”

Excited na si Jommy sa nalalapit na pagpapalabas ng romantic comedy na pagbibidahan ng bagong kasal na sina Judy Ann Santos at Ryan Agoncillo kung saan gaganap siyang playboy na nagba-buy and sell ng kotse at kaibigan ni Ryan.

Jommy Teotico says being a comedian is his ultimate dream

Slowly but surely. Ito diumano ang motto ng Pinoy Fear Factor El Ultimo Participante na si Jommy Teotico nang makausap ng ABS-CBN.com sa isang auto show kung saan kabilang siya sa mga panauhing pandangal. Ibang iba na rin daw ang buhay niya ngayon dahil andami na daw nakakakilala sa kanya, nagpapa-picture at nagpapa-autograph. Ibang iba sa buhay na nakagisnan niya noon. Sa ngayon, unti-unti na niyang sinimulan ang pagnenegosyo na pinamumuhunanan niya mula sa cash prize na natanggap niya sa Pinoy Fear Factor.

Career wise, masaya si Jommy sa mga TV guestings at ang nalalapit na pagpapalabas ng “romcom” [romantic comedy] na George and Cecil kung saan kasali siya sa cast. Ito ay pagbibidahan ng real life sweethearts na sina Judy Ann Santos at Ryan Agoncillo. “Mga guestings po meron tapos yung George and Cecil malapit na po yun. Comedy show kaya ok yun. Talagang gusto ko ng comedy or action kaya sabi ko suwerte talaga na nakasama pa namin ang mga big stars so sobrang suwerte.”

Hindi rin naman diumano siya nahirapan sa pagpapatawa dahil by heart ay makulit na talaga siya. “Kahit nung dun pa lang naman sa Argentina parang normal ko na rin eh yung makulit parang sa akin madali na rin kasi comedy nga. Bata pa lang makulit na ako. Yun talaga yung dream ko, ang maging comedy actor.”

Kamakailan lamang nakaladkad ang pangalan niya sa iringang John Lapus, Jobert Sucaldito at Phoemela Barranda dahil sa sinabi diumano nang una na naging waiter daw niya dati ito. Pag-amin niya nasaktan siya kahit papano sa mga nangyayari. “Medyo kasi parang dini-down nya yung mga ganung tao siyempre pangit naman kasi yung crab mentality, magtulungan na lang tayo dapat nga maging masaya ka kasi may umaangat. Siyempre lahat naman ng tao may pangarap.”

Acting, a pleasant surprise for PFF Participante Manuel Chua

Inamin sa ABS-CBN.com ni Manuel Chua ng Pinoy Fear Factor na dissapointed siyang hindi siya ang tinanghal na El Ultimo Participante sa naturang reality show. “May naidulot na disappointment siya sa akin actually, lalo na nung time na na-out ako tapos nakalimutan ko na siya ok na ako tapos nung napanuod ko ulit ayun bumalik siya. Pero after that siyempre tanggap ko na si Jommy [Teotico] talaga ang nanalo, so I have to accept it.” Pero noon daw yun at ngayon ok na ang kanilang pagkakaibigan. “Ok kami ni Jommy, good friends kami, close kami. Actually ako, si Jommy at Marion [dela Cruz] close kami talaga.”

Naging daan sa mga participante ang show para makilala at mapag-usapan kaya hindi maiwasang maisip ng iba na kaya sila sumali sa Pinoy Fear Factor para mag-artista. Iba naman ang kuwento ng papalicious SuperManuel ng Cabanatuan City. “Ako nung sumali ako wala akong planong maging artista eh, gusto ko lang ma-experience yung challenges ng Fear Factor pero nung nasa fear factor na kami nung malapit ng matapos tinanong ako ni Ryan [Agoncillo] pag uwi mo ng Pilipinas gusto mo maging artista? Ang sabi ko kung may chance bakit hindi, so ngayon andito ako at masaya ako na merong binigay sa akin na project, kasama ko si Judai [Judy Ann Santos] tsaka si Ryan sa George and Cecil.”

Inusisa din namin ang super father na si Manuel kung sino-sino ba sa mga girls ng PFF ang naging close niya noong nasa Argentina pa sila. “LJ Moreno, Janna Dominguez and Savanah Lamsen. Si Gail Nicolas, naalis kaagad tsaka si Phoemela Barranda kaya nung time na andun kami talaga kasi si Gail lagi kong katabi sa mga stunts so kaming dalawa laging nag-uusap.”

Inamin din nitong na-pressure siya nung pinagkakaisahan na siya nang mga kapwa participante. “Nung una flattered ako kasi pinag kakaisahan ako kung baga threat ako pero nung tumagal mahirap na rin, pressured na.”

Sa ngayon, ang gusto lang daw ni Manuel ay magkaroon ng maraming guestings para mahasa ang kanyang talent. “Gusto ko lang magkaroon ng maraming trabaho, para mas ma-develop ko yung sarili ko, maipakita ko rin kung ano yung kakayahan ko.”

Pinoy Fear Factor’s Janna Dominguez is unaffected by rumors

Pinoy Fear Factor first runner-up Janna Dominguez hasn’t let intrigues affect her because she knows they are just fabricated stories. (Janna has been the subject of rumors stating that she has a rich benefactor in the person of singer-composer Lito Camo.) The lovely 19-year-old chinita admitted that she already prepared herself for the mudslinging even before she joined showbiz.

“Hahalukayin nilang lahat ultimo ‘yung pinakamaruming parte ng buhay mo, ‘yung masama o malungkot. Siyempre ako, pinasok ko ito, ibig sabihin handa ako. Kung may mga tanong na very private, may right naman siguro ako para sabihin na ‘Sa akin na lang ‘yan,’” she expressed.

Looking on the bright side, Janna couldn’t be happier for finally living her dream of being in the entertainment industry. She even recalled what she went through to get into showbiz, such as joining the endless lines of applicants for ABS-CBN’s reality-based programs like Star Circle Quest and Pinoy Big Brother. She started joining auditions when she was 14 and she made sure to try out for every reality show. “Para sa akin, mabait lang talaga ‘yung Diyos. Matagal ko na po itong hiniling. Fourteen pa lang ako nag-start na akong mag-audition sa PBB at SCQ, ganyan. Mataba ako dati at wala akong confidence. ‘Di ako natatanggap talaga,” Janna shared.

But her perseverance was finally rewarded when she was selected to be one of the 12 participantes of Pinoy Fear Factor, much to her surprise. For Janna, her ultimate goal for joining showbiz is to prove something to herself more than becoming famous. “Kaya ako pumasok sa showbiz kasi may gusto kang i-prove sa sarili. May gusto kang i-improve at may gusto kang malaman sa sarili mo na hindi mo pa alam. Gusto kong patunayan na kung may kayang gawin ang ibang tao ay kaya ko ring gawin. Kung hanggang saan ang kaya ko,” she admitted.

For now, Janna is enjoying the fruits of her labor. “Nakakatuwa kasi nare-recognize ka na at may pangalan ka na kahit paano. Nakikilala ka sa sarili mong paraan like in my case, ‘yung pagsali ko sa PFF. Pinaghirapan ko talaga ‘yon. Nakakatuwa.” After her stint on Parekoy, Janna will be seen in the upcoming series Precious Hearts where she has been paired up with fellow PFF participante Manuel Chua.

Aside from her TV appearances, Janna still does stand-up comedy in KTV bars. Although it is challenging to juggle both TV and stand-up, she has no intention of giving up the latter because of the opportunities it has opened up for her. “Ayokong bitawan ang mga inumpisahan ko dati. Dun ako nagsimula eh, parang hindi ka naman lilingon sa pinagmulan mo nun [kung binitawan mo]. Ito ‘yung naging training ground ko at ‘pag love mo ‘yung trabaho mo hindi ka mapapagod,” she shared.

Savanah Lamsen, ready to tease, but not willing to go all the way

Feeling ng Pinoy Fear Factor participante na si Savanah Lamsen, nag-iba ng husto ang buhay niya pagkatapos niyang subukan ang kanyang suwerte sa nasabing reality show. “Actually, medyo naninibago po, like before po kasi normal ka lang ganun ganun, do whatever you want. Then all of a sudden, yung ‘di kana makalabas masyado. Hindi naman yung di makalabas, kaya lang yung pag nagmo-mall ka yung may mga nagpapa-picture, yun po yung life ko after Fear Factor. Yun po, yun po yung mga nabago sa ‘kin.”

Inamin din ng “ledge dancer” kung tagurian sa PFF na gustong-gusto talaga niyang pumasok sa show biz at ang show ang sa tingin niya ang magiging daan para maisakatuparan niyaang matagal na niyang pangarap. “Gusto ko pong maging artista. Gusto kong maging host actually.‘Tsaka po yung ano manalo ng two million of course, ‘tsaka house and lot.” Pero sa kasamaang palad, hindi nagtagumpay si Savanah na masungkit ang titulo bilang kauna-unahang el ultimo participante sa PFF dahil na-eliminate siya sa 8th round of elimination pagkatapos niyang hindi mapagtagumapayan ang hamong Pared Giratoria (Rotating Wall). Ngayong gusto talaga niyang subukan ang showbiz, is she still willing to go sexy? “Opo, sexy na po talaga ever since kasi nag-FHM po ako tapos ako po yung nilaban ng Philippines sa Ms. Bikini of the Universe 2006 po yun. So ever since sexy na po talaga ang gusto ko.” Gaano ka-sexy? Ito ba yung tipong mag all the way? “Hanggang two-piece lang po, siguro hanggang two-piece lang. Mag-all the way? Huwag naman po. Depende po kasi, depende po. Kasi pwede naman pong ‘di na lang maghubad, ‘di ba po.” Hindi rin maiwasang mapagdudahan ng iba na dumaan sa siyensya ang ibang bahagi ng kanyang katawan dahil almost perfect ang kanyang vital statistics na 36-23-37, ano naman kaya ang masasabi niya tungkol dito. “Ay wala po. Tanung n'yo vital ko, nawi-weirduhan nga po ako sa vital ko.” Pero kung mayroon man daw siyang ipapaayos sa katawan niya, ito ay ang kanyang legs dahil masyado daw malaki para sa kanyang figure.

Inamin din ni Savanah na hindi lahat ng takot niya ay nalagpasan niya. “Hindi ko po na-conquer yung fear ko yung sa daga nilagay sa face ko yung daga. Sa kalahati ng ulo ko, eh takot po ako sa daga tsaka sa pusa na malalaki. Eh yung mga daga kasing laki ng pusa.So sobrang takot talaga. Pero, nalagpasan ko po siya, nagawa ko po lahat ng stunts pero parang ‘yung nakita ko yung daga parang iyak ako ng iyak . Parang na trauma pa nga ako lalo nung nakakita ako ng daga ngayon, naalala ko yun yung mga kadiring daga na nilagay sa mukha ko talaga.”

Napansin din ng ABS-CBN.com na iba ang closeness nila ni Marion dela Cruz. May tsansa kaya ang balikbayan from Austria sa kanyang puso? “Tanungin nyo na lang po si Marion, di naman po siya nanliligaw sa akin. friends lang po kami.” Kinilig naman ito nang matanong kung sino ba ang crush niya sa showbiz. “Si Jake Cuenca po, super crush ko po si Jake Cuenca tsaka po si Sam Milby.” Halimbawa makakausap niya siya Jake at kunyari gusto din siya nito, ano kaya ang maari niyang sabihin dito. “Halimbawa lang po ah, ‘di ako nag a-assume ha pero kung halimbawa pong nagustuhan din niya ako parang ‘di ko po kaya, nakakahiya, ayoko ng ganoon.” Dagdag pa niya, “Natutuwa po ako pag nakikita ko po siya lalo na po pag nag-a-acting siya. tapos pag nasasaktan siya sa teleserye niya, feeling ko naiiyak din ako.” Sa huli, nagbigay naman ng mensahe si Savanah ukol sa napapabalitang pagdi-date nina Janna Dominguez at Jose Sarazola at ayon pa sa kanya, happy siya para sa dalawa. “Hindi po ako nanghihinayang, happy po ako kung nagdi-date po sila po ni Jose at Janna. Happy po ako sa kanila. Totoo po yun.”

Is LJ Moreno going sexy?

ABS-CBN.com had a chance to talk to LJ Moreno about her having liposuction on the hips. LJ admitted she gained weight after Pinoy Fear Factor at ito ang inilapit niyang problema kay Dr. John Cenica, isang beauty surgeon. According to LJ, tumaba siya nang husto sa Argentina noong ginaganap ang Pinoy Fear Factor doon last year. " 'Yung eating time kasi (comparing Argentina at Philippines) is different ,ang breakfast dito ay 8AM samantalang sa Argentina, 10AM. Lunch nila is 2PM at dinner ay 9PM. Minsan, after pa ng stunts kami kumakain, so lamon talaga." natatawang kuwento ni LJ. Kaya't noong March 25 winakasan na nito ang problema sa kanyang hips.

Matapang na sinubukan ni LJ ang proseso, dahil ayon sa doktor,"There's no blood vessels or internal organs na matatamaan. In just an hour, it's over," eksplanasyon ng kaniyang doktor. Aside from flushing fats from her hips, she wants to look more sexier now that she and former bf Jimmy Alapag (of PBA team Talk and Text) are back in each other's arms. " Yes, nagkabalikan ulit kami," happy na sabi ni LJ. "Nagkita kami sa wedding ng isang friend, Sarah Mayer last March 3.And that was supposed to be our (LJ and Jimmy) 5th year anniversary. Nagkuwentuhan at ‘yun na, nag-reconcile." One year and three months nang split si LJ at Jimmy noong panahon na iyon.

Wala daw connection sa kanyang pag-aartista ang kanyang pagpapa-sexy o pag-a-undergo ng liposuction at supported ito ng kanyang boyfriend. "Jimmy's full support naman in everything I do. Hindi siya kumokontra sa mga ginagawa ko. Grabe ang support niya, when I was in school and when I was teaching. Eh kasi naman,grabe din ang support ko sa kanya." LJ then denies she's living-in with Jimmy. " Hindi po," sabay tawa nito. "I'm living with my family." bawi ni LJ. Ayon pa kay LJ, wala pa naman daw sa kanilang plano ang kasalan kahit nagkabalikan sila. "Kasal? Ngayon? Hindi pa siguro. I'm taking it slow muna. My focus is work muna talaga." Work for LJ is her comeback project for Viva Films aside from teaching sa Little Gym school sa Fort Bonifacio. "I'm now a teacher and teaching will always be there kahit pa nag-aartista ako. " nakangiting pahayag ni LJ. "At least, I can say na, I have a degree and I also have a teaching license." LJ though admits mahirap talikuran ang pag-aartista. "Pero, hangga't may offer at puwede pang mag-atista, why not?" she answers again with a laugh.

Pinoy Fear Factor’s Jommy Teotico and Manuel Chua get their first acting break in 'George and Cecil'

After conquering the challenges in Pinoy Fear Factor: Argentina, South America, Jommy Teotico and Manuel Chua Jr are set to join the cast of the upcoming romantic comedy series George and Cecil top-billed by real-life couple Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo. ABS-CBN.com spoke exclusively with Jommy and Manuel right after their celebrity online chat last March 12 and the two shared their excitement over their first regular acting job in the Kapamilya network. “Maswerte kami na makakatrabaho namin sina Judy Ann at Ryan pati na rin si Direk Joey Reyes (headwriter and director of George and Cecil). Maswerte rin kami kasi may character talaga kami sa story, hindi lang basta supporting o extra,” said Jommy. The two PFF finalists, together with fellow Participante Marion Dela Cruz, had previously appeared in the Saturday female gag show Banana Split.

In George and Cecil, Jommy, the El Ultimo Participante of PFF, will play Ryan’s chauvinistic best friend. The 24-year-old model earned the reputation of being the heckler and joker in PFF, and he said that playing a funny character on TV has been a dream come true for him. “Sobrang saya ko lalo na at comedy pa ‘yung gagawin ko. Gusto ko talaga kasi ‘yung comedy o ‘di kaya action. Excited ako na comedy ‘yung una kong gagawin. Looking forward na nga ako maka-trabaho siya. Pero kabado rin ako kasi siyempre siya ang ‘young superstar.’ Unang regular acting job ko siya agad ang makakasama ko,” said Manuel. The 28-year-old appliance storeowner from Cabanatuan told ABS-CBN.com about the first time he met Judai. “Na-meet ko na siya dati nung nag-extra kami ni RJ (Calipus) sa Pieta (Ryan’s afternoon teleserye). Aside from breaking world records in Pinoy Fear Factor, Manuel Chua Jr also manage to win fans because of his physique. Last Thursday, March 12, Manuel and his fellow Fearless Four—Marion dela Cruz, Janna Dominguez, and El Ultimo Participante Jommy Teotico—had an interactive online chat with their fans on ABS-CBN.com. Manuel was surprised that he had the biggest fan base, mostly girls, among the four. “Sa mga fans sobrang thank you dahil kung wala kayo wala rin ako ngayon dito... Hindi namin lahat na-expect na magiging ganito katindi ‘yung suporta niyo sa amin,” was his reply to the overwhelming feedback.

This appliance storeowner from Cabanatuan wore nothing but his skimpy swimming trunks during the PFF pictorial. He confessed that he first felt shy about wearing trunks in front of the camera. In a previous appearance on The Buzz, Manuel was asked by host Kris Aquino to reveal his abs on live television, further adding proof that many had come to regard him as a new sex symbol. “Nung magpi-pictorial na, kinabahan ako nung sinabi na kailangan mag-trunks. Hindi ako sanay na naka-trunks. Buti at nagawa namin. Ngayon ‘yung mga tao nakikita ako as sexy, nakakatuwa. Lalo na at nasama ako sa 20 hottest men of summer ng Metro Magazine. Flattering talaga. Okay lang sexy. ‘Wag lang bold. Basta may takip pa rin (laughs). Okay naman sa akin pero siyempre medyo nakakahiya. ‘Yun pagpapa-sexy sa TV o sa movie, trabaho din ‘yan. Ngayong nandito ako [sa showbiz] gusto kong i-grab bawat opportunity. For as long as trabaho lang wala namang problema.”

Women go crazy whenever Manuel appeared onstage during the PFF mall shows and the 28-year old feels flattered with the many ladies who admit to having a big crush on him. “Sobrang nakaka-flatter ‘yung mga girls na gumagawa ng fan art, karamihan sinasabi, ‘Will you marry me?’ Nakakataba ng puso kapag iniisip mo ‘yung effort nila sa paghanga nila sa ‘yo. Sa mga fans na nakakakita sa akin na minsan hindi ko napapansin, iniisip tuloy nila suplado ako. Pasensya na po. Kapag naglalakad kasi ako sa mall nahihiya ako kaya madalas nakayuko ako at dire-diretso lang ako. Basta thank you kasi sinusuportahan niyo ako.”

Manuel has been open since the beginning of PFF about having five-year-old daughter and about maintaining a good relationship with the mother of his child. However, Manuel would rather leave his family out of the limelight. “Super okay kami (the mother of his daughter). I can’t say na we’re together as a couple. Basta good kami in a way na open ang communication namin. Supportive siya sa mga ginagawa ko. Very involved siya sa pag-raise ng daughter namin. Sa akin talaga nakatira ‘yung anak namin pero since ngayong napapadalas ako sa Manila because of work sa kanya madalas nag-stay ‘yung bata dun sa Nueva Ecija. I’m not in search of a new relationship. Focus muna ako sa trabaho. I pray na mas maraming trabaho ‘yung mabigay sa akin. Hassle lang ‘yung pambababae (laughs).”

EXCLUSIVE: Direk Lauren Dyogi speaks up on alleged cheating on Pinoy Fear Factor

Even if the series ended last February 20, many fans still haven’t gotten over Manuel Chua’s elimination from Pinoy Fear Factor: Argentina, South America. The crowd favorite and consistent top-ranking Participante was eliminated from the Fearless Four during the stunt called Paglibing Nang Buhay after his legs got stuck in the coffin under the sand for several minutes. Many accused the PFF management of cheating because when it was the turn of another Participante Janna Dominguez to do the stunt, she got help from two members of the Argentine staff to dig her out of the sand. Many believed that this made it possible for her to finish the stunt much faster than Manuel. Janna eventually went on to play the final El Ultimo Duelo against Jommy Teotico.

ABS-CBN.com spoke with Lauren Dyogi during the PFF victory last Friday, February 20, and he said in an exclusive interview that the Kapamilya network never resorts to any form of fraud just to favor a particular contestant. “We got a lot of emails about the whole ‘Manuel getting booted out’ issue na kesyo dinaya daw. Hindi mo naman madadaya ‘yun kasi nandoon ang buong Endemol (the international company who owns the Fear Factor franchise) and the Argentine staff. It will affect the integrity of ABS-CBN. We will never do that. We uploaded sa Pinoy Fear Factor Multiply Site ‘yung actual video nina Manuel and Janna, sabay nilang ginawa ‘yung stunt at nakita na malayo talaga ‘yung lamang ni Janna kay Manuel. ‘Yung pag-alalay ng mga staff kay Janna to get out was just on the side and sandali lang. More than anything, the whole committee na nakabantay sa amin doon helped us decide kung ano ang dapat gawin. They decided na it was really Janna who got ahead.”

The Business Unit Head of the program admitted that even he was shocked that Manuel did not make it to the end. “Mahusay talaga si Manuel. All the while we thought siya ang mananalo. Pero minsan kapag natitiyempuhan ka ng malas, kung hindi para sa ‘yo, hindi talaga para sa ‘yo. Siyempre kapag fan ka may mga masasabi ka dahil galit ka na hindi nanalo ‘yung manok mo.”

Direk Lauren pointed out that it was the perfect mixture of strategy, power, and luck that made Jommy Teotico the El Ultimo Participante, taking home the P2 Million and the house and lot grand prize. “He was just cool with the competition and I think that worked for him. He was not taking the whole journey too seriously. Kapag sineseryoso mo kasi lalong nakakabigat sa ‘yo. I think that was what happened to RJ (Calipus). He was too serious about winning kaya mas lalo siyang nahirapan. There should be an element na relax ka dapat para mas lalo kang makadiskarte nang maayos and at the same time you enjoy. Si Jommy nag-eenjoy talaga. Nang aalaska siya, nanggugulo. I think that was a good strategy for him. Also dun sa final stunt ni Jommy ang nangyari was tumayo ‘yung kotse niya at umandar pa. May halong swerte ‘yun. He was meant to win talaga.”

Direk Lauren also commended ladies Janna and Savanah Lamsen for giving all that they had, which earned them spots in the final six. “We were all surprised that Janna, and even Savanah made it to the top six. All the while when we were doing the final stunt we thought Janna was going to win.”

Janna Dominguez admits to dating Jose Sarasola

Marami din ang nagtatanong kung ibinuhos nga ba niya lahat ng kaya niya o sadyang hanggang dun lang ang nakayanan niya, “Oo naman, lahat naman tayo, pag andun na tayo ibibigay mo yung best mo. Di naman ako nanghihinayang sa ginawa ko kasi alam ko naman na ginawa ko lahat pero nanghihinayang ako kasi kulang pa talaga,” paliwanang pa ni Janna. Tinanong din namin kung maibabalik ang oras ng huling pagsubok, gagalingan ba niya at tatalunin niya si Jommy? “Kung maibabalik ko lang, naku masasabi ko sa ‘yo, Oo. Sabi ko sa ‘yo, papausukin ko yung ano (kotse)gagawin ko talaga lahat malagpasan ko lang ang ginawa ni Jommy kaso nangyari na, so at least happy na rin ako kay Jommy.”

Tapos na nga ang mga pagsubok sa reality show na kanyang sinalihan kaya naman handa na siyang suungin ang magulong mundo ng showbiz. “Di ko po ititigil yung sing along bars, kasi yun po yung training ground ko as an artist and at the same time yun po kasi ang naging stepping stone ko into showbiz. Wish ko po ngayon mas maraming projects, tapos sinama ako ngayon ni Direk Lauren (Dyogi) sa movie niya. Sana more projects to come.” Busy rin ang dalaga sa mga out of town shows at ayon pa sa kanya, todo raket siya para sa kanyang pamilya at sa pag-aaral ng mga kapatid nito.

Matatandaang nakaladkad ang pangalan ng dalaga sa kontrobersiyang naging sila diumano ni Lito Camo. Naging sila nga ba talaga nang magaling na singer/composer? “Hindi po. Hindi po talaga. Naging magkaibigan kami sa Wowowee ‘di ba kasi naging host po ako doon.Si Direk Bobot (Mortiz) friend ko rin po pati si Papi (Willie Revillame) magkakaibigan po kami and at the same time wala naman po akong masasabi kay Mr. Lito Camo kasi napakabait po niyang tao,” paglilinaw niya na tsismis lang talaga at walang katotohanan ang lahat nang mga nagsilabasang isyu. Panawagan niya, “Sana nga lang ‘di na sana ma-brought up ulit kasi ok na po tayong lahat.”

Bago matapos ang reality show na Pinoy Fear Factor, naging malapit sa isa't isa sina Janna at Marion Dela Cruz, kaya nausisa ng ABS-CBN.com kung bakit hindi natuloy ang maganda nilang pagtitinginan. “One month po kaming magkakaksama dun, gaya ng nasabi ko na sa mga nag-iinterview,ang buhay kasi namin dun, kami lang nagkakakitaan, nagkakausap, nagkakakuwentuhan, nagkakakilanlan, so yung atensiyon namin sa amin lang na-focus, pero nung pagbalik namin ng Pilipinas iba na pala. So sabi namin may iba-iba na kaming buhay so sabi naming mas magandang friends muna kami dito sa Pilipinas.”

Sinu-sino naman kaya, kung papipiliin siya ng tatlo sa mga boys of Pinoy Fear Factor ang gusto niyang makasama o makapartner sa mga projects in the future. Nasorpresa ang ABS-CBN.com sa tinuran ni Janna. “Si Jose (Sarasola). Number one talaga si Jose. Pwede bang isa na lang. Pwede bang si Jose, si Jose at si Jose,” buong ningning na kinikilig pang sagot ng dalaga.” Ito kaya ang dahilan na hindi na nagtuloy-tuloy ang ligawan between her and Jommy? “Kasisinabi ko nga po na si Jose po talaga ang crush ko unang kita pa lang sa airport , yun naudlot lang yung pagkakakilala namin kasi nga umuwi na siya ng Pilipinas.” Isa si Jose sa unang napaalis sa reality show kaya short-lived 'ika nga ang kanilang pinagsamahan sa Argentina. Pagtatapos pa ng dalaga, “Siya yung pinaka-close ko sa ngayon sa mga participantes. Lumalabas po kami, nag-uusap po kami.”

Piolo Pascual and the rest of the Pop Icons were greeting their friends from showbiz who came to support their concert when he suddenly teased Erik Santos and LJ Moreno, who was present at the VIP guest area. So when ABS-CBN.com caught up with the former Pinoy Fear Factor Participante after the event, we immediately asked her whether there’s something going on between her and the country’s Prince of Pop. “Hindi… Hindi ko alam. Akala ko nga nagloloko lang kasi ‘di ba best friend ko si Peachy (Rufa Mae Quinto)? So baka niloloko lang nila [si Erik]. Hindi ko talaga alam,” said LJ who was clearly surprised with the issue.

She further clarified that Erik had never tried to make moves on her given her friendship with his ex-girlfriend. “No, not at all. Kasi, you know, Rufa Mae is my best friend.” But she did not deny that they communicate once in a while because of something they have in common. “Well yeah, we have each other's number because we go to the same church. ‘Yun nga he wanted to invite me to their cell group because there’s another small group [that I go to]. I’ve been to their cell group before [pero] wala siya nung time na yun, as in kami nila Peachy... Naku ha! Baka magalit sa akin si Peachy,” she exclaimed.

Though she agreed that it’s not impossible for a friend to fall in love with his/her best friend’s ex, LJ insisted that she’s not one who would go for that kind of relationship.“Gano’n ba yun? Yeah, but I respect Peachy. We’re really really good friends. I don’t know where that came from.” She also explained that she’s not just being defensive because Rufa Mae still has feelings for Erik. “Hindi naman sa gano’n.Me, kasi as a friend, both of us actually, kapag ako may ex or whatever, hands off talaga [siya or ako sa ex niya]. And I don’t think he will [court me]. Of course he's a nice guy but Rufa Mae’s my best friend and it’s not just my thing, she added.

Apparently, it was her personal favorite amongst the Pop Icons, Mark Bautista, who invited her to watch the concert. “Yeah I am closest to him because we were in the same movie, yung ‘Single’, me, Angelu (de Leon) and Mark. That’s why Angelu and I came together.” Since LJ is not going steady with anyone at the moment, would she consider Mark as a potential boyfriend? “Mark is a really good guy. With these guys kasi, the Pop Icons, they have a big plus factor especially for me because right now, the number one quality [that I am looking for] in a guy is someone who has a good relationship with God. That’s what I really admire about them,” she revealed.

On the other hand, LJ was very happy for Pinoy Fear Factor El Ultimo Participante Jommy Teotico whom she believes deserves to win the show. “I know a lot of people are saying na siya yung alaskador sa group but we all became really close. Jommy has a good heart. I think that was his tactic, yung pang-aalaska niya, because he really wanted to win. Pero I think he deserves that prize. Wala namang dayaan na nangyari kasi there's no way you could cheat on Pinoy Fear Factor. It was really just God’s will,” she remarked.

But she also felt bad for Manuel Chua (a.k.a. Super Manuel) who was her bet amongst the Fearless Four since he really worked hard to reach that point in the competition.“Yun nga eh, sobrang nagulat kami. Kasi all those who got eliminated stayed in Argentina until the end of the show. I was shocked to see Manuel go, sobra, kasi ang galing niya. Pero yun nga hindi mo rin masasabi. Like with the girls, they thought I was gonna stay longer than the others, pero kanya-kanyang swerte lang talaga ‘yan,” she sincerely stated.

Sumalang ang Fearless Four ng Pinoy Fear Factor Argentina noong Linggo (February 22) sa The Buzz upang bigyang linaw ang mga isyung kanilang kinakaharap ngayon.

Unang sumagot si Manuel Chua o "Super Manuel" from CabanatuanCity na sinasabing big favorite dahil daw sa madalas niyang ipakita ang ganda ng kanyang katawan kung kaya't marami ang nahumaling dito. Kinontra naman ito ni Manuel at idinepensa na marami ang sumuporta sa kanya dahil sa nag-eexcel siya sa mga challenges.

Sinagot din ni Marion dela Cruz ng ValenzuelaCity ang mga ibinabatong isyu sa kanya, una na rito ang pang-iinsulto umano niya sa komedyanteng si Pokwang. Tinanong kasi si Marion kung ano ang ibibigay niya kay Pokwang upang takutin ito at sumagot siya na aabutan daw niya ng salamin ang actress/host. "Hindi po 'yon ang intensyon ko," simula ni Marion. "Minsan may nasasabi ako na wala naman po akong intensyon (na masama) do'n. Parang na misunderstood lang ako." Bilang peace offering umano kay Pokwang ay dinalhan niya ito ng flowers at may kasamang bulaklak at sinabihan daw siya ni Pokwang na maaari na siyang matulog nang mahimbing. Isa pang isyung kinaharap ni Marion ay ang pagkuwestyon sa kanyang pagkalalaki at muli niyang inulit na maaaring nami-misinterpret lang ng iba ang kanyang pagiging "gay" o masiyahin. " 'Yung totoo po, lalaki po ako. Masayahin po akong tao. Kinumpirma naman ni Janna Dominguez na niligawan siya ni Marion during the time of the competition sa Argentina subalit naudlot ito pagkatapos din ng kompetisyon. "Sa Argentina napag-usapan namin na iba 'yung mundo namin do'n. Kami-kami lang ang nagkakakitaan kami-kami ang nagkakausap. Pagdating sa Pilipinas iba-iba 'yung priorities ng buhay namin at may kanya-kanya kaming buhay," paliwanag ng flawless na chica. Sa apat ay si Janna rin ang tila tagumpay sa pagpasok sa showbiz dahil nakasama siya sa katatapos na teleseryeng Eva Fonda at inaasahang makakasama sa isang pelikula. Nali-link din siya sa male celebrities gaya nina Sam Milby at Baron Geisler.Isiniwalat niya na makakasama niya si Sam sa isang pelikula kung kaya't nali-link siya dito na inamin niyang crush din niya dahil humble ito. Naging close naman daw sila ni Baron dahil sa Eva Fonda at sobrang close din umano si Janna sa family ni Baron na inilarawan niyang sobrang bait.

Samantala, ibinahagi naman ng kauna-unahang Pinoy Fear Factor winner na si Jommy Teotico ng Manila na katatapos lamang niyang sumailalim sa gall-bladder operation kung saan gumastos niya ng daang libong piso. Sa ngayon ay ginamit umano niya ang kanyang P2 milyon premyo sa business na buy-and-sell ng kotse. May kasunduan pala ang mga Participante na kung sino ang mananalo ay sagot ang out of town bonding nila pagkatapos ng show at bibilhan ang lahat ng magkakaparehang sapatos. Sinabi ni Jommy na pinaplano pa nila ang mga bagay-bagay. “Baka sa Cam Sur (Camarines Sur) po,” sagot ng El Ultimo Participante kay Kris Aquino. Ang mga sapatos naman daw ay hirap silang kumuha ng magkakaparehang style dahil sa size kaya’t baka iba-iba ng klase na lang daw ang kanyang ibili sa mga kasama.

Jommy Teotico is the first El Ultimo Participante of Pinoy Fear Factor

After surpassing 33 challenges and 11 elimination rounds, Jommy Teotico is named as the first El Ultimo Participante of Pinoy Fear Factor: Argentina, South America.

In the first part of the February 20 episode of the reality show, PFF host Ryan Agoncillo announced the name of the tenth person eliminated from Pinoy Fear Factor. In the previous stunt, the Final Three—composed of Janna Dominguez, Marion dela Cruz, and Jommy—had to put a tarantula in their mouth for two minutes before eating the arachnid in the shortest time possible.

Ryan revealed that Marion, the participante who is courting Janna, completed the task in 3 minutes and 32 seconds. Jommy finished the task in 3 minutes flat while Janna clocked in the fastest at 2:56.

Before he left, Marion told Ryan and his fellow participantes: "Nanghihinayang ako kasi isang stunt na lang pero marami akong natutunan sa show na ito."

When he and Janna had some time together before he left, Marion sincerely told Janna, "Panalo na ko kasi nakilala kita. Proud ako sa 'yo. Talunin mo si Jommy, ha," he said before hugging her tight for one last time in Argentina.

CAR ROLL OVER STUNT. For the El Ultimo Duelo, the final two participantes had to drive a car at top speed towards a ramp that triggers an explosion upon contact. The car's distance farthest from the ramp will be declared the winner of the challenge and the overall winner of Pinoy Fear Factor.

Janna, an 18-year-old standup comedienne, faced Jommy, a 24-year-old model, in a dark parking lot bathed in dramatic lighting. When the smoke cleared, Ryan indicated that their last stunt is called the Car Roll Over stunt. A stuntman then revved up the engine of a black car that hit the ramp and triggered a huge explosion.

The female participante exclaimed, "Napanood ko na ito! Ang saya!" She gave a high-five to Jommy and waited with much excitement for her turn. Jommy, pumped up with adrenalin and determination, was the first to take the challenge.

Before he rode his car, Jommy told viewers of Pinoy Fear Factor, "Si Janna, hindi naman siya threat pero ibang klase ang fighting spirit niya."

He revved up his engine and cameras inside the car showed how powerful the impact was when the car flipped over and landed on its roof.

When it was Janna's turn to enter the car, she admitted, "Isa lang iniisip ko, ang lagpasan ang nagawa ni Jommy. Power!"

Jommy, known as the "Scorpion King" for being bitten by the arachnid, was asked to turn around so he won't be able to see immediately how far Janna's car will land from the ramp. After she completed the stunt, Ryan himself measured the distance from the starting line to the car.

The Pinoy Fear Factor host then revealed that Janna's attempt only took her to a distance of 17 meters and 10 cm while Jommy's car reached a distance of 22 meters and 50 cm.

Jommy Teotico is Pinoy Fear Factor's first El Ultimo Participante. He is given P2 million pesos and is now the owner of brand-new Avida house and lot from Ayala Land.

Jommy and Manuel recently had a misunderstanding during one stunt when Manuel chose to save Janna Dominguez and had Jommy go through the elimination. ABS-CBN.com exclusively interviewed Jommy during the Status: A Valentine’s Night with the Scholars concert last Friday, February 13 where he explained why he called Manuel ‘plastic.’ “Okay lang naman na ako ‘yung pinili niya ang kaso lang iba pa ‘yung ginawa niyang dahilan. Kesyo magkasing dami na ng nakuhang strawberries kami ni Janna. Naisip ko na bakit hindi na lang niya ako diretsahin. Kung ako ‘yun sasabihin ko talaga na ‘kasi mahirap kang kalaban.’ Nagpaligoy ligoy pa siya. Feeling ko nagpapabango lang siya ng pangalan sa mga babae. Na-plastikan ako sa ginawa.”

Jommy was with Manuel and other Participantes Janna and Marion dela Cruz during the Status concert, and it seemed that everything is now okay between Jommy and Manuel. “Kinagabihan nakapag-usap naman kami. Naging okay na lahat. Siguro dala lang ng pressure ng competition kaya kami nagkaka-initan. Kapag pressured ka kasi iba na rin ‘yung pag-iisip at emosyon mo. Konting pitik lang apektado ka agad nang sobra,” Jommy told ABS-CBN.com.

The 24-year-old part-time model earned the reputation of being the heckler in the competition for he often dissed the other contestants during the game proper. Jommy explained that it was just his strategy to distract the other Participantes from accomplishing every stunt. “Ganun lang talaga kasi ‘yung ugali ko. Kahit sa mga barkada ko ganun ako manloko. May mga friends akong gusto nila akong kasama kasi ako ‘yung laging makulit. Ginamit kong strategy ‘yun para ma-distract ‘yung ibang Participantes, para mawala ‘yung focus nila sa stunt. Kapag nagbi-bilyar kasi kami ng mga barkada ko ginugulo ko sila kaya hindi sila makapaglaro nang maayos. Feeling ko naman effective ‘yung strategy ko kasi umabot ako sa Fearless Four. Competition ‘yan e. Sumali ako na ang nasa isip ko lang eh manalo. Bonus na lang ‘yung pakikipagkaibigan. Iba rin naman ‘yung naging bond namin kapag nasa camp kami lahat.”

Jommy revealed to ABS-CBN.com that he would often check out the Pinoy Fear Factor Multiply site and would be surprised with the people’s reaction about the show. There were the usual haters of course, but aside from that, there were also those who became instant fans. Now, Jommy has people asking to have their pictures taken with him and his autograph every time he would go out. “Overwhelming kasi ang daming tao ang gustong makilala ka at marami ka ring nakikilala. Masaya. Medyo nasasanay na rin sa mga taong gustong kumausap sa ‘yo, mga gustong magpa-picture. Dati halos wala ngang gustong kumausap sa akin (laughs).”

Jommy broke a world record when he became the fastest Participante to finish the Car Container stunt for which he won P50,000. Sadly, the money went to his hospital bills. “Napang-ospital ko ‘yung pera. Naoperahan ako kasi nagka stones ako sa bladder. Kababalik pa lang namin noon (from Argentina). Nakakainis nga eh. Pero at least okay na ako.”

Pinoy Fear Factor Fearless 4 answer intrigues and issues

Sa Biyernes, February 20, ay magtatapos na ang Pinoy Fear Factor: Argentina, South America sa ABS-CBN. Malalaman na kung sino sa tinaguriang Fearless 4 na sina Manuel Chua, Jommy Teotico, Marion dela Cruz, at Janna Dominguez ang tatanghaling El Ultimo Participante at mag-uuwi ng premyong P2 milyon at house and lot.

Mas matitinding hamon ang kinaharap ng Fearless 4 sa huling ronda de eleminacion, na kinabibilangan ng nakakatakot na pagbabaon sa kanila sa ilalim ng lupa, ang pakikipaglaro sa mga makamandag na tarantula, at delikadong car stunt. Sa huli, dalawang participante lang ang maghaharap sa El Ultimo Duelo at ang mananalo rito ay siyang hihiranging El Ultimo Participante.

Habang nagaganap ang mga hamon at elimination rounds ay binigyan ng Pinoy Fear Factor host na si Ryan Agoncillo ng title ang bawat isa sa mga participantes.

Sa Fearless 4, si Manuel ay nakilala bilang si "Supermanuel" dahil na rin sa lagi niyang pangunguna sa mga stunts, kung saan nakapagtala pa siya ng dalawang world records. Siya lang din ang tanging participantes sa kasaysayan ng Fear Factor na nakapagpahinto ng kabayong kumakaladkad sa kanila.

Si Jommy naman ay nakilala bilang si "Scorpion King" dahil sa pagkain niya ng buhay na mga scorpion, kung saan natusok pa siya ng makamandag na buntot nito na ikinamaga ng kanyang labi.

Si Marion ay tinawag namang "Quintin Tarantahin" noong una dahil sa pagiging matarantahin niya na nakatulong naman sa kanya para manguna siya sa ilang stunts. Nitong huling linggo ng eliminasyon ay binigyan siya ng bagong title ni Ryan na "Kryptonite," dahil siya raw ang maaaring makapagpahina kay "Supermanuel."

Si Janna naman ay nakilala bilang si "Janna Bonana" dahil sa pagdadala niya ng lucky charm sa mga stunts, ang favorite niyang stuffed toy na si Bonbon. Ang bonana raw ay tawag sa isang batang babae.

INTRIGUES AND ISSUES. Sa presscon ng Pinoy Fear Factor na ginanap noong Lunes, February 16, sa 9501 restaurant ng ABS-CBN, nilinaw ng Fearless 4 sa PEP (Phlippine Entertainment Portal) ang mga isyung nabuo sa kanila noong nasa Argentina pa sila. Bukod kasi sa mga kinaharap nilang mga hamon, humarap din sila sa mga iringan at iba pang mga banggaan ng emosyon.

Ipinaliwanag nina Manuel, Jommy, Marion, at Janna na kung anuman ang nangyaring problema sa kanila sa Argentina ay napag-usapan na nila ito at naayos na nila lahat. Ngayon daw na nasa Pilipinas na sila ay magkakaibigan silang lahat. Lumalabas din sila kasama ang iba pang participantes na nauna nang na-eliminate na kinabibilangan nina Gail, Ram, Phoemela, Jose, Elmer, LJ, RJ, at Savanah.

Kahit anong gawin ng PEP at ng iba pang entertainment press para paaminin sa Fearless 4 kung sino talaga ang nanalo sa kanila ay hindi kami nagtagumpay dahil na rin sa confidentiality clause na kasama sa pinirmahan nilang agreement. Magmumulta raw sila ng limang milyong piso kapag napatunayang inilabas o sinabi nila ang resulta kahit kanino. Kaya kahit sa mga kapamilya, kamag-anak o mga kaibigan nila ay hindi nila pwedeng ikuwento ang mga huling kaganapan sa Pinoy Fear Factor, lalung-lalo na kung sino ang nanalo.

Ipinaliwanag ni Manuel ang tungkol sa tila pag-iba ng personality niya isang gabing nalasing siya na humantong pa sa pagkakaroon nila ng gusot ni Marion.

"Kasi po, ang tagal na namin sa Argentina, e, kaya gusto naman naming lumabas at magsaya. Malapit na po kaming umuwi noon at 'yon na lang ang chance namin na lumabas at mag-good time. Pero hindi ko po ine-expect na ako po yung mag-spoil sa kasiyahan namin.

"Yun po ang isang bagay na pinagsisihan kong ginawa ko sa Argentina, yung paglalasing ko. Nandun na po 'yon, e, nangyari na. Ang maganda naman doon ay nagkaayos na kami ni Marion, tapos naunawaan na rin ng iba pang mga kasama namin," esplika ni Manuel.

Nilinaw rin ni Marion ang isyu tungkol sa kanyang tunay na kasarian. Dahil kasi sa mga ginawa niyang kalamyaan sa Argentina ay inakala tuloy ng mga tao na siya ay bakla.

"Joke-joke lang po yun. Noong una ko po kasing ginawa yun at nakita kong nag-enjoy yung mga tao sa paligid ko ay itinuluy-tuloy ko na," wika ni Marion.

Dagdag pa niya, kung bakla raw talaga siya, bakit liligawan pa niya si Janna.

In connection sa panliligaw ni Marion, nalaman ng PEP na pagbalik ng Pilipinas ay hindi na natuloy ang panliligaw na ito at naging magkaibigan na lang sila ni Janna. Ang rason ay mas napapalapit na pala si Janna ngayon sa participanteng nakagat ng ahas sa Argentina, si Jose Sarasola. Aminado naman si Janna na simula pa lang sa pagpunta nila sa Argentina ay crush na niya si Jose. Ito raw ang special friend niya ngayon.

"Siya po ang nakatabi ko sa plane. Tapos nakatulog ako sa balikat niya. Actually, hindi ko po alam kasi nakapiring nga kami. Nalaman ko na lang nung tinanggal na yung piring. Umpisa pa lang po kasi, siya na ang crush ko," kuwento ni Janna, na tuwang-tuwa last Valentine dahil pinag-bake siya ng heart-shaped cake ni Jose, na isang aspiring chef.

Nang tanungin ng PEP kung ise-share ng mananalo ang cash prize sa ibang participantes, heto ang paliwanag ni Jommy: "Nag-usap po kami before pa noong 12 pa po kami, na kung sino po yung mananalo ay manlilibre na lang. Mag-iisip po siguro kami ng outing. At saka bibili kami ng sapatos na pare-pareho kaming lahat."

Bukod sa premyong dalawang milyong piso, nagkaroon din ng dalawang non-elimination stunts na may premyong P50,000 each. At ang nanalo sa mga stunt na ito ay sina Manuel at Jommy.

WILLING TO ENTER SHOWBIZ. Willing naman daw pasukin nina Manuel, Jommy, Marion, at Janna ang showbiz kung mabibigyan sila ng pagkakataon. Matapang din daw nilang haharapin ang mga hamon sa showbiz.

Kung tutuusin, si Janna ay naging guest co-host na ng Wowowee bago pa ang Pinoy Fear Factor. Nakasama na rin siya sa nagtapos ng teleserye na Eva Fonda at pati na rin sa gag show na Banana Split. Isinama rin daw siya ni Direk Lauren Dyogi sa cast ng isang pelikulang gagawin nito.

Wish nga ni Janna na dumami pa ang offers sa kanya. Okay rin daw siya sa pagpapa-sexy at wish niyang maging cover girl ng men's magazines gaya ng FHM.

Ayon naman kay Marion, uma-attend na raw sila ng iba't ibang workshops. Gusto raw niyang i-try ang acting pati na ang dancing at modeling. Pero kung walang mangyayari ay ibang field na lang daw ang papasukin niya.

Si Jommy naman na dating model at swimmer ay gusto ring maging isang artista. Wala na rin daw siyang masyadong hiya pagdating sa pagpapa-sexy dahil sa pictorial pa nga lang daw nila for Pinoy Fear Factor ay naka-trunks na silang mga lalaki. Si Mariel Rodriguez daw ang gusto niyang maging leading lady.

Matapang naman na sinabi ni Manuel na willing daw siyang gumawa ng isang kissing scene sa kapwa niya lalaki kung maganda ang script at project. Pero sana raw ay hindi ito ang unang maialok sa kanya dahil baka ma-typecast daw siya.

Flexible daw siya kaya kahit bida, supporting o kontrabida roles ay tatanggapin niya. Gusto raw niyang makatrabaho sina Sarah Geronimo at Bea Alonzo.

Pinoy Fear Factor participante Marion dela Cruz clarifies gay rumor

Marion dela Cruz, the balikbayan from Vienna, Austria, laughed off speculations that he is gay when asked about it during the media junket prepared for the seven eliminated "participantes" of Pinoy Fear Factor last Monday, February 16.

"It was just a joke," said Marion. The 22-year-old Pinoy Fear Factor contestant once wore a two-piece swimsuit owned by his co-participante Savannah Lamsen as part of the consequence he got in one of the challenges. After this, his male co-participantes and even the show's avid viewers, started to speculate that Marion might really be gay.

He explained, "Nag-enjoy lang po talaga ako. Gusto ko lang po talaga magpatawa ng mga kasama ko kaya ginawa ko. Una po, napansin ko na nakakatawa ang reaksyon nila kapag [nagdamit-babae] ako, e. Noong sumunod po, hindi ko na alam ang rason, e. Nakita ko po ang reaksiyon nila, nakakatawa. 'Tapos po ang reaksyon ng ibang tao na nakakita, parang natawa rin po. Ako, mas masaya ako kapag napapasaya ang ibang tao, kesa ako ang nagpapapasaya sa sarili ko."

The former soccer player added that he never feared what people would say after seeing his gay-comedy acts in Pinoy Fear Factor.

"Ginusto ko naman talagang gawin 'yon," he said. "Para po sa akin, alam ko naman po na lalaki ako, e. Okay lang po kung isipin ng tao na bakla ako. Kasi naman po, hindi naman po lahat ng tao, di ba, nakakasundo ko, hindi naman po lahat ng tao puwedeng magustuhan ako. Pero mayroon naman po yatang mga tao na nakakaintinding joke lang 'yon."

"JANNA IS SPECIAL." Marion admitted his affection towards his co-participante, Janna Dominguez, who already started her showbiz career in the recently concluded Eva Fonda and the all-female gag show Banana Split.

"I like her, kasi kami 'yong nagkukulitan talaga sa camp area [El Campo Miedo in Argentina, South America], magkasundo talaga kami sa mga kalokohan," he said.

But it seems like Marion is still not taking his moves with Janna to the next level. In fact, he said, he would just like to maintain whatever his relationship is with Janna right now.

"Ngayon, friend lang kami, e. Friends lang talaga," described Marion. "Ayos lang sa amin ang friends kami, magkasama naman kami madalas, e, para sa Fear Factor, madalas kaming tinatawag dahil may mga mall shows. Lagi kaming nagkakasama at ang kulitan namin, ganun pa rin."

For Marion, he is just enjoying his time with Janna. "Parang hindi pa naman napag-uusapan ang tungkol sa commitment. Wala pa. hindi pa kami interesado, wala pa sa isip namin ang commitment. Nagte-text kami palagi. Nagkukuwentuhan po kami tungkol sa problema more than 'yong normal na friends po. Pero wala pa sa isip naman 'yong commitment."

EXCLUSIVE: Pinoy Fear Factor’s Manuel Chua speaks up about his feud with Jommy Teotico and Marion dela Cruz

The tension is definitely building up as Pinoy Fear Factor: Argentina, South America goes into its final week. Manuel Chua, the Participante who’s been leading in almost all of the stunts, even had a misunderstanding with bitter rival Jommy Teotico. In an exclusive interview, ABS-CBN.com spoke with Manuel about what sparked the conflict during the Status: A Valentine’s Night with the Scholars concert last Friday, February 13.

The trouble began during one stunt when Manuel chose to save Participante Janna Dominguez. “Ang pinagbasehan ko talaga ng decision ko na si Janna ang maliligtas is siya naman talaga ‘yung mas maraming nakuhang strawberries (in the stunt). Nalaglag nga lang ‘yung isa. Inisip ni Jommy na strategy kong iligtas ‘yung babae. Sobra na ‘yung init ng competition. Tuwing sasalang kami sa stunt, ramdam mo na lahat kayo magkakalaban. Tumindi ‘yung labanan pero hindi ko naman inexpect na magkakaroon ng alliances at pagtutulungan ako. Pero tuwing bumabalik naman kami sa camp okay naman kami. Lahat kami magkaka-barkada.” As if to prove that there was really no trouble between them, Manuel was with Jommy, Janna, and Marion dela Cruz at the Status concert.

Manuel also nearly got into a brawl with Marion when the six remaining Participantes were treated to a night of fun and drinks at a bar in Buenos Aires. After taking too much alcohol, Manuel unintentionally hit Marion on the back, which angered the latter. Although Manuel claimed he was just drunk that night, Marion believed that Manuel was getting back at him since both of them harbored special feelings for Janna. However, Manuel clarified that Janna is just a friend and that he never meant to pick a fight with Marion. “Wala ‘yun. Close talaga kaming tatlo nina Janna at Marion. Maski naman ‘yung iba like sina LJ (Moreno) at Savanah (Lamsen). Nung gabi na ‘yun nasobrahan lang ako sa alak. Sobrang nag-enjoy kasi kami nun sa bar.”

From just being an appliance store proprietor in Cabanatuan City, Pinoy Fear Factor elevated Manuel to celebrity status. He brought pride to the Philippines by breaking two Fear Factor world records: first in the Slippery Car stunt and second in the Helicopter Net challenge. “Hindi ko inexpect na makaka-break ako ng records. Pumunta ako sa Argentina kasi gusto ko lang maglaro. Pride na para sa ating mga Pinoy na may records tayong na-break.” Manuel said that he is thankful to everyone who is religiously supporting and wanting him to win the competition. “Sobrang proud ako na maraming nagsasabi ako ‘yung gusto nilang manalo. Ang sarap ng feeling na nakikita ko ‘yung mga tao lalo na ‘yung mga bata natutuwa sa character ko as SuperManuel. Nagkaroon din [ako] ng mga fans club. Kahit na may mga nakita silang bad things about me tuloy pa rin ‘yung suporta nila.” The 27-year old father of a little girl is open to showbiz opportunities that may come his way. “Okay lang sa akin ang hosting, acting, modelling… Kahit ako gusto kong subukan. Gusto kong malaman kung saan ako pwedeng mag-excel.”

LJ Moreno leaves teaching career for showbiz comeback

"Hindi na ako nagtuturo, back to acting na ako."

This was the statement of comebacking actress LJ Moreno in an interview at the press conference of Pinoy Fear Factor: Argentina, South America yesterday, February 16, at 9501 restaurant in the ABS-CBN compound, Quezon City.

The 27-year-old actress said it is time to pursue her long-planned showbiz comeback after her breakup with basketball cager Jimmy Alapag.

"After graduation, dapat babalik na talaga ako," related LJ to PEP (Philippine Entertainment portal). "Pero I wanted to get experience muna in teaching. And at that time, I was still with Jimmy and he plays basketball. So, parang 'yong plan, 'yong buhay ko, nag-revolve sa kanya, parang nakalimutan ko na 'yong sa akin.

"It was more on, 'It's okay to be a teacher. It's okay to earn this much because eventually we're gonna move back to the States after he plays basketball and I'll just pursue my career in teaching there.' 'Yong showbiz, parang nawala."

LJ went on to say that somehow she had enough time in practising what she learned in school during her break from showbiz.

"When we broke up, I went back to my old plan. 'Yon nga, after school dapat. Pero happy din ako na nagturo muna ako kasi at least, 'yong experience nandoon. Di ba, 'yong iba nag-aral 'tapos hindi na nagpa-practise kasi tatamarin na? At least, 'yong sa akin, may background ako in teaching. Alam ko na that was a good one year and a half experience as a good employee, which was great also kasi mas naa-appreciate ko ang pag-aartista ngayon."

The "daredevil chick" of Pinoy Fear Factor added that with her showbiz comeback, she would just consider teaching as a fallback whenever she decides to stop working as an actress.

LJ said, "Eventually, I'll put up my own day-care or school later on, siguro when I have my own family. At least, that's something na I can do and be a mom at the same time. Pero for now, balik-showbiz ako."

Even before she joined Pinoy Fear Factor, LJ already started to be visible again in show business by playing a role in the movie Status: Single, which was topbilled by her friend Rufa Mae Quinto. Right now, LJ, whose showbiz career is being handled by Veronique del Rosario-Corpus of Viva Artist Agency, attends to some go-see and auditions while waiting for her next project.

CLOSER TO GOD. Aside from going back to the career she first loved, LJ's breakup with the Jimmy also drew her closer to God.

She related, "Ever since I was a kid, I always have time, I always pray to God, before nagba-Baclaran pa ako. Naging kami ni Jimmy and I started compromising. After the breakup, sabi ko, 'I'm not compromising my relationship anymore. Kasi, para sa akin, what helps me do things that I did... Let's say I do give it up to my next boyfriend, God can always take him away. Bakit ko pa gagawin 'yon? I might as well do it right this time."

This decision did not only renew her relationship with God, it also made her feel much better about herself.

"Kasi, di ba, the guy won't have anything to say about you," she explained. "Women are emotional beings kahit na sabihin mong never tayong hindi puwedeng ma-attach. Di ba, imposible 'yon, e. Parang I feel like I'm helping myself out. So many blessings have come since I made a decision to acknowledge God."

LJ thinks that the split has given her something positive, unlike the other breakups in local showbiz.

"I think the breakup both did us good kasi we're so dependent to each other. At least ngayon, nakapag-grow ako on my own. I'm happy na we're friends."

ARGENTINIAN ADMIRER. Pinoy Fear Factor avid viewers also followed LJ's short love story in Argentina. It could be remembered that the local actress admired one of the staff of Fear Factor in Argentina named Maxi.

During the press conference, the media learned that after being eliminated, LJ stayed in Argentina's capital city, Buenos Aires.

She explained, "Kasi, I didn't have anything to do anything anyway pagbalik dito. Kasi, parang may set date na for shooting. So naisip ko, since nandoon na rin naman ako, I traveled 36 hours to get there, might as well get to see Buenos Aires."

LJ chuckled as she continued her narration, "Feeling ko talaga sobrang winner ako dahil iniikot ko 'yong Buenos Aires, guwapo pa 'yong tour guide ko. Si Maxi ang nag-ikot sa akin."

Although Pinoy Fear Factor is about to end on Friday, February 20, LJ said that she and Maxi maintain constant communication.

"Ongoing pa rin pero it's not as often as before noong bagong dating ako, hindi pa pinapalabas ang Fear. Lately kasi nagte-tape sila ng Fear Factor Finland, so busy siya doon. By the time na umuwi siya, hindi na kami nakakapag-chat, puro sulat na lang," she ended.

Savannah Lamsen fails to enter the Fearless Four of Pinoy Fear Factor

Savannah Lamsen, a 23-year-old ledge dancer from Quezon City, didn't make it to the Fearless Four of Pinoy Fear Factor: Argentina, South America. She was eliminated in the Octava Ronda de Eliminaciόn (Elimination Round 8) of the ABS-CBN reality show last night, February 12.

"Ayoko pang umuwi...hindi ko ine-expect na mangyayari yun! It's time for me to go," said Savannah after she failed in the third stunt of Octava Ronda de Eliminaciόn.

In the first challenge of Elimination Round 8, the participantes were required to hold on to a stick at the end of the rope that would be dragged by a horse trotting in circles on a muddy field. Whoever could hold on to the rope the longest in this stunt, called Atrasado Por Un Caballo (Slowed Down by a Horse), would be safe from elimination and would automatically compete in the final round.

Manuel Chua gripped the tow rope the longest with a record time of 1:01. He also holds the record for being the only participante in the history of Fear Factor who tired a horse out with his strength.

On the other hand, Jommy Teotico stayed on the tow line for 54 seconds while Marion dela Cruz hung on for 39 seconds. The women did not perform well in the stunt. Janna Dominguez's time was just five seconds while Savannah's was only three seconds.

The next stunt was called Cinta Transportada de Fruticias (Strawberry Conveyor Belt). Forty strawberries are transported on a tilted conveyor belt. Each participante must catch them one by one with his mouth and place them in the box opposite his spot.

This second challenge seemed easy for the participantes. But since this is Pinoy Fear Factor, a chosen fellow participante could put distractions on the conveyor belt along with the strawberries to make the challenge more difficult. The one who placed the most strawberries in the box would be exempted from competing in the final stunt of Octava Ronda de Eliminaciόn.

Savannah got one strawberry, Marion got six, and Jommy and Janna both had eight strawberries. Manuel, who was present to observe his potential contenders in the final round, was assigned to choose between Jommy and Janna on who would compete in the third stunt of Elimination Round 8. Manuel chose Jommy based on his assessment that Janna caught more strawberries but, unfortunately, these did not reach the box, reducing the total count of her strawberries.

The third stunt was the Pared Giratoria (Rotating Wall). In this stunt, the participantes must scale both sides of a rotating wall in as many revolutions as they can in ten minutes without falling off. The one who performs the least revolutions will go home to the Philippines.

Jommy was the only one able to last the entire ten minutes, pulling off 12 revolutions and thus securing a place in the final round. Both Marion and Savannah fell off the wall. However, Marion was able to complete three revolutions before falling off while Savannah slid off the wall at the onset, making her the 8th eliminado of Pinoy Fear Factor: Argentina, South America.

Savannah was truly sad when she did not make the stunt. "Sad ako...hindi ko akalaing maaalala ako ng mga tao dahil nahulog ako ng mabilis. Ayoko ng ganun ako maalala," she tearfully told host Ryan Agoncillo.

What lessons did she learn in Pinoy Fear Factor?

"Na, yun nga, magkaroon ka ng bilib sa sarili mo, saka yung feeling na makikisama sa lahat ng klase ng tao, kahit ano pa sila."

Was she able to conquer most of her fears?

"Oo, marami saka yung pagri-reach ko ng goal ko, hindi ako hihinto."

Next week, the remaining participantes—Manuel Chua, Jommy Teotico, Marion dela Cruz, and Janna Dominguez—will be facing the ultimate challenge of Pinoy Fear Factor. RJ Calipus eliminated in septima ronda de eliminacion of Pinoy Fear Factor

Wharf porter Bernabe "RJ" Calipus from Tondo was the 7th participante eliminated in Pinoy Fear Factor: Argentina, South America. The culmination of the séptima Ronda de eliminación (Elimination Round 7) was aired last Friday, January 30.

In this round, six participantes labeled as the Saistig (Sais na Astig) vied to survive the challenges in the seventh round to determin who will take home the cash prize, a house and lot, and the title of El Ultimo Participante.

THE FIRST CHALLENGE. The participantes had to lie down inside a transparent glass coffin being submerged underwater in a stunt called Cofre en el Agua (Coffin in Water). At the signal of a pilot light, the participante must open the lock of the glass coffin using one of three keys tied to their hands to release themselves from the glass coffin and swim toward the edge of the pool marked with the logo. The fastest participante to finish the stunt will be exempted from the next round.

Marion Cruz and Jommy Teotico were exempted from the succeeding rounds of séptima ronda de eliminación, finishing the stunt at 19 and 20 seconds, respectively. Marion was shocked after hearing the result because he didn't even expect to finish the stunt himself. Even though Marion has always done a great job at the stunts, he panicked this time and he felt tense in frightful stunts so PFF host Ryan Agoncillo branded him as Quintin Tarantahin.

Manuel Chua and Savannah Lamsen clocked in identical times of 26 seconds each, but Savannah was penalized with five additional seconds for holding the lock and keys before the pilot light's signal was given.

Janna Dominguez finished the challenge in 42 seconds while RJ was the only one unable to finish the stunt since he quit after 24 seconds.

Four of them had to move to the second challenge of séptima ronda de eliminación.

THE SECOND CHALLENGE. Caja del Terror (Box of Terror) was the name of the challenge that the four participantes had to face. They had to lie inside a box that is divided into three sections, one at the head, one surrounding the feet and the middle section, each to be filled with either rats, snakes, or frogs. The challenge was to transfer a number of animals placed in the middle section into a fish tank next to the box in a span of three minutes. The fastest person to accomplish the stunt would be exempted from competing in the third stunt.
All of them were tasked to transfer 15 frogs. Savannah was able to transfer 12 frogs in three minutes. RJ was able to transfer 15 frogs in 39 seconds, but one frog landed out of the fish tank and another ended up in another compartment of the box, thus putting the official count at 13.

Both Manuel and Janna were able to completely transfer 15 frogs, but Janna did it two seconds faster than Manuel having 1 minute and 45 seconds versus 1 minute and 47 seconds, thus saving her from the third round.

THE THIRD CHALLENGE. In preparation of the third stunt, a test explosion triggered by the PFF staff caught the attention of the local police. So as to avoid troubles with the police force, all production was suspended until the next day in a different location.

For the third stunt, Manuel, Savannah and RJ tried out a giant wire loop game in Circuito con Explosiones (Circuit with Explosions). The stunt was a real heart-stopping feat because if the wire touches the giant electrical hoop, it will trigger a fiery explosion behind the participante.

Manuel was the first one to try the stunt after being chosen by his co-participante, Savannah. He initially felt unwanted by the group but it turned that he was the only to complete the stunt with a time of 1:28.

Since both RJ and Savannah set off explosions, the distance achieved became the basis for the decision of the judges. Savannah managed to loop 2.97 meters of the wire, while RJ crossed only 2.6 meters, making him the seventh person to fly back home to the Philippines.

As Pinoy Fear Factor nears its conclusion, the challenges are also getting more intense. Next week, the remaining five participantes would be competing in Octava Ronda de Eliminación (Elimination Round 8) where they will be facing other extreme stunts.

Pinoy Fear Factor Jose Sarasola admits he’s now scared of snakes

Jose Sarasola, the fourth Eliminado of Pinoy Fear Factor, admitted that he had many unforgettable experiences from the reality-based TV show, including developing a fear of snakes. For one PFF stunt, the student chef had to submerge in a tank of water with snakes to collect the discs that lay at the bottom of the tank. Jose was bitten three times during that challenge. “For me naging walang fear [of snakes before] to [nagkaroon ng] fear na. After what happened to me, I’m scared na talaga. I liked holding snakes [before], but once they bite you, siyempre parang you’re scared na,” Jose confessed.

PFF contestants have to take each challenge in stride, but they weren’t immune to panic attacks when they had to deal with unusual situations. “Torture talaga. Kasi I fell from the helicopter and I hurt my back a bit. I got bitten three times by anacondas. I guess that counts as torture,” Jose revealed. “And I guess another thing is fear of injuries, kasi parang [I’ve] never felt as much as pain falling from the helicopter, or having been bitten. All the injuries, parang your body is aching na from injuries. That is scary thing for me. But then again, it’s fun din, kahit nasaktan ako. I enjoyed the whole experience.”

There have also been important lessons that Jose learned in PFF. Coming from a well-off family and being an only child, it was his first time to be away from his parents for a long time and he also had to live with other 11 strangers. “That’s a big step for me. Living with people whom I didn’t know and sharing the bathroom, the bed, and the food. Being the only child [it was a big adjustment]. It’s a big step for me na sharing with other people but then, after a while, when we became close, I enjoyed it. When I went back home, hinanap ko pa sila dahil wala akong kapatid. Na-enjoy ko talaga,” he admitted.

Ram Sagad wants another shot at ‘Pinoy Fear Factor’

Having the physique and training of an athlete, Ram Sagad was thought by many to be the strongest contender in Pinoy Fear Factor: Argentina, South America. However, the ex-basketball player was the second Participante to be eliminated. During the press conference for the six “eliminados,” Ram admitted that he was a bit disappointed with his early exit from the competition. “Medyo disappointed. Gusto ko talaga kasing manalo. Feeling ko naman kaya ko ‘yung mga stunts. Siguro kinulang lang ako sa drive. Nung tumatagal na kami sa Argentina unti-unti ko na kasing naiisip ‘yung mga naiwan ko sa Pilipinas. Naisip ko ‘yung family ko pati ‘yung studies ko. Graduating kasi ako. Pero nung umuwi ako after ko ma-eliminate nakabalik naman ako sa school at naka-graduate na ako.”

Ram was eliminated in the final stunt of the Segunda Ronda De Eliminacion when he failed to hang on long enough to the Helicopter Trapeze. Manuel Chua, the Participante who is now dominating almost all the stunts of PFF, said that he was quite relieved when Ram was eliminated, seeing him as the biggest threat in the competition. Nevertheless, Ram said he was able to conquer his fear of heights thanks to the helicopter stunt. “Na-overcome ko ‘yung fear of heights ko. Na-enjoy ko na ‘yung last stunt na ginawa ko. Ngayon kapag napapanood ko ‘yung mga stunts na ginagawa ng mga natirang Participantes naiingit ako. Sana nagawa ko rin ‘yun. Kung iisipin ko ‘yung mga stunts na sumunod feeling ko kaya ko naman.”

This six-foot hunk won the 2007 Century Tuna Superbods Model Search and played a minor role in the Vhong Navarro superserye Mars Ravelo’s Lastikman. With the exposure that he got because of PFF, Ram said that he is very much open to whatever showbiz opportunities that may come his way. He also placed his bet on fellow Pump Squad member RJ Calipus to become the El Ultimo Participante of PFF. “Gusto ko manalo si RJ kasi mas kailangan niya ‘yung P2 Million para sa dalawang kids niya. Sa batang edad kasi niya may mabigat na siyang responsibility. Tsaka ‘yung house and lot makakatulong din ng malaki sa family niya.”

"Pinoy Fear Factor" participantes overcome their fears

When they joined the first Pinoy Fear Factor, the six eliminated participantes—Gail Nicolas, Ram Sagad, Phoemela Baranda, Jose Sarasola, Elmer Felix, and LJ Moreno—aimed to conquer their fears in an effort to win the prize money and house and lot.

But when they came back to the Philippines earlier than expected, a question came to mind, "Did they really conquer their fears?"

For the Bikini Summit '07 winner Gail Nicolas, whose greatest fears are dark places and heights, she said she never had the chance to try to conquer her feel because she was eliminated too soon.

She said, "Hindi ko masyado na-experience 'yong fear kasi ako po yung unang natanggal. So, parang marami pa pong stunts na gusto ko talaga maexperience, yung mga kinatatakutan ko pero sobrang minalas po, ako yung unang napauwi."

The second person eliminated from the show, Ram Sagad, confidently said that he has overcome his fear of heights. In fact, he said in an interview, he would have enjoy his last stunt if only he had not lost his grip from a moving helicopter. He added, "Noong napapanood ko na yung mga ginagawa nila parang naiinggit ako, parang gusto kong I-try, 'yon nga neenjoy ko na."

When TV Patrol Star Patroller Phoem Baranda was eliminated next, she promised to herself, "Mag-aaral akong mag-swimming, mag-bike, at mag-aalaga ako ng ahas." Her intention to learn swimming is triggered by the stunt wherein they had to enter a glass tank full of snakes.

"Hindi ako magaling sumisid," admitted Phoem. "So, 'yong tank kasi after Jose [Sarasola], ako 'yong sumunod and pagtalon ko talagang sobrang murky na nung water. Nag-panic na rin ako kasi natakot na rin ako sa ahas 'tapos sobrang lamig na nung tubig.

"'Yong weather talaga doon ang isa sa mga pinakakalaban ko doon, kasi mahina ako sa lamig. So, when we got there, first time to go out there, sobrang lamig talaga."

Fourth eliminated participante Jose actually added another fear instead of eliminating them: he is now wary of snakes. This is because he was bitten by snakes while inside the glass tank. The Fil-Spanish culinary student used to think about raising snakes as pets.

"I got bitten three times by [snakes]," he related, "so I guess that counts as torture. But then it was a fun trip, I mean, you never do these stunts in your whole life, so even if nasaktan ako I enjoyed the whole experience talaga."

Veterinarian Elmer had a different story. Although he had conquered his fear of heights and being claustrophobic, he thought that his knowledge about animals become a disadvantage when they were tasked to eat transfer cockroaches from one
container to another.

The participante who accidentally ate a cockroach said, "Alam ko po kasi 'yon, pinag-aralan po namin 'yon. Kaya minsan pumasok po sa isip ko, ‘Ano, gagawin ko ba 'to?' Parang ganon po, kasi alam ko po kung gaano kadumi, e. So, minsan po yun nagiging disadvantage po pero pag nakikita ko po yung mga kasama ko na they give their best, siyempre kailangan ibigay rin ko po yung best ko."

LJ Moreno, who was vacationing with her family in America during the media junket prepared for them, was not able to share her experience. However, her co-challengers went "kilig" as they recalled how LJ was given surprise visit by her crush.

The preschool teacher was surprised by her crush, an Argentinian Fear Factor crew member named Maxi, during a farm visit. He gave LJ hand-picked flowers and invited her to lunch.

After all the hard stunts, the fun memories, and the unique bonding moments with fellow Pinoy Fear Factor "participantes," they shared the valuable lessons that they learned from the reality show. In a nutshell: never give up.

Phoem even pointed out, "Pagbalik ko, I reallly appreciated the things that I have. Kasi like simple things, 'yong mga everyday na meron ako dito sa Pilipinas, talagang naappreciate ko pagkauwi ko."

Earlier tonight, January 23, the remaining participantes went through the third stunt of "septima ronda de eliminacion." They had to complete the routing of a nerve spiral or else it would trigger fiery explosions. In previous stunts in the seventh round, the participantes had to be locked in a glass coffin underwater and they had to bear being covered with rats, snakes, and frogs while inside a three-division box.

PFF Eliminados hope for good showbiz breaks

The Eliminados of Pinoy Fear Factor all said that they are hoping to get better showbiz opportunities after their feat in the reality-based TV show. Five of the six Eliminados – veterinarian Elmer Felix, model Gail Nicolas, culinary arts student Jose Sarasola, model Ram Sagad, and TV host Phoemela Barranda – recently appeared before the members of the press to talk about their experience on PFF. Actress LJ Moreno, who was recently eliminated on the show, was not present during the press conference because she was on a vacation in the US.

When asked what are their plans after PFF, Jose was first to answer and said he wants to start his own restaurant while trying out his luck in showbiz. "I'm taking up HRM (hotel and restaurant management) at College of Saint Benilde, so I want to be a chef and work in a restaurant after graduation. But then I joined Fear Factor kasi I want to try something new." Jose further said that he will be glad if ever he is offered an opportunity in showbiz because he would not mind exploring the possibilities.

Doc Elmer from Pampanga said that he will continue his chosen profession but he is not closing his doors to doing work in front of the camera. "Patuloy pa rin ang paggagamot ko ng hayop pero 'pag may opportunity po sa showbiz, why not po para another kind of work naman.”

Gail, Ram and Phoem, on the other hand, are not new to show business and they all hope that their exposure on PFF will lead to bigger projects. "Before I started joining Fear Factor, nag-start naman na po ako," Gail said. The aspiring actress is a bikini contest winner and model before setting her sights on acting. "Napakagandang opportunity din naman po sa akin na dumating at nakasali ako sa PFF na alam ko pong magiging daan na makapasok ako sa showbiz."

"Ako rin po, before (PFF) nagmo-model model na rin ako, kung merong opportunity sa showbiz, go na rin siguro," declared the shy Ram. The former basketball player has already appeared in minor roles on TV.

Phoemela, who has the most TV exposure among the PFF contestants because of her hosting stints on TV Patrol World and The Buzz, was very frank to say that she was after the experience and the P2 million prize money. But even though she did get eliminated, her exposure on the show was an added boost to her career in the end. "I said na sana it would open new doors pa for me, and it did naman," she said. "After Fear Factor balik ako sa hosting, may mga guestings, I get to dance (such as in ASAP'09). It's fun also."

Phoemela Baranda was worried about joining ‘Pinoy Fear Factor’

Pinoy Fear Factor eliminado Phoemela Baranda admitted that she initially had apprehensions of joining the reality show because she had her career to consider as a regular segment host for TV Patrol and The Buzz. “It was a bit scary because I have work for TV Patrol and The Buzz. So, actually ‘yun ang pinakanakakatakot and I have to make paalam and hindi ko puwedeng sabihin kung saan ako pupunta,” the host shared.

Phoem has been open about saying that the P2-million prize money was her first motivation for joining PFF, followed by the chance to gain new experiences. Phoem and actress and pre-school teacher LJ Moreno were the only celebrities among the 12 participantes of PFF. Phoem also clarified that being celebrities did not entitle them to special privileges. “Kasi when it comes to the stunts talaga, pantay-pantay naman ang tingin sa amin,” she said. Phoem was the third to be eliminated while LJ was the sixth.

The model-host also believes that joining PFF did her career good. Not only was she able to regain her hosting jobs, but she got more exposure as well. “I think naman after doing it (PFF), it really helped me also paglabas ko. Let’s say nasa mall ako, they really recognize me,” Phoem admitted. People would also compliment her for being courageous in performing the PFF challenges. “So it really gained me a lot of compliments and I hope it will help me more in the future, kasi iba talagang experience and opportunity and honor na makasama sa Argentina,” she said.

Aside from conquering her fear and learning new things such as diving, Phoem is also thankful for the enriching experience she acquired in PFF. “It’s a very humbling experience,” she added. But given the opportunity to do it all again, the host admitted that she might let it pass, but said she will never forget the lessons she gained from it. “Nakatulong din sa akin emotionally. Masasabi ko pagbalik ko I really appreciate everything that I have, the simple things that I have here sa Pilipinas.”

On Pinoy Fear Factor: Jommy Teotico gets into trouble

Jommy and bitter rival Manuel Chua were the two toughest Participantes playing in the final stunt of the Ronda Sin De Eliminacion. The best man will bag the much-coveted P50,000 cash prize. But what was supposed to be a well-planned stunt got out way out of hand and put the lives of the Argentine stunt supervisors in danger.

In the final stunt called Reingresar En El Camio, Jommy and Manuel must drive a car out of a container truck. Once on the road, they must turn the car about, chase after the truck and drive the car back inside the truck. The player who finishes the stunt the fastest will take home the P50,000. Manuel was the first one to get in the driver’s seat. But the engine died for a few seconds after the car got out of the truck. It took ‘SuperManuel’ some time to restart the car and drive it back the truck. After the stunt, Manuel admitted that he was not pleased with his performance.

Jommy, who was not that confident with his driving skills, then geared up for the stunt. Luckily the engine did not die on ‘Scorpion King,’ and when he saw an opportunity to beat Manuel’s time, Jommy stepped on the gas and hurriedly drove the car back inside the truck. But because of his excitement, Jommy forgot to hit the breaks just when he was about to get inside the truck. The car crashes into eight Argentine stunt supervisors inside the truck.

Jose Sarasola relates experience in "Pinoy Fear Factor"

"Gusto ko lang to go there for the fun, meet new other people, and do the stunts," says fourth eliminated "participante" Jose Sarasola about his reason for joining the reality show Pinoy Fear Factor: Argentina, South America.

Although he was eliminated early from the game, the Fil-Spanish contestant still considered his short stint in the ABS-CBN show as something very fulfilling.

In fact, he happily told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), "I was able to go to Argentina, do the stunts, and we had a stop-over pa sa Johannesburg [South Africa], so parang it was fun lang talaga at first. It's something new talaga. It's fun, e, parang may helicopter, you enter a tank of snake. In your whole life, hindi na mangyayari ito."

Aside from this, Jose was also able to build a strong bond with his fellow "Pump Squad" members namely Jommy Teotico, RJ Calipus, and Ram Sagad.

The 22-year-old Culinary Arts student related how their group was formed. He said, "I didn't really form the group, pero parang 'yon ang ka-close ko sa group—si Jommy, RJ, and Ram. So parang we became one group, 'tapos, ‘Hoy, ano'ng pangalan natin?" 'Tapos nga si RJ kasi parang he was reading a magazine about Arnold Schwarzeneger. Si Arnold parang pumps at saka naggi-gym kami, so parang ‘pump squad' tayo."

As a group, the "Pump Squad" leader said that they really want their group to be together until the end. However, he became very upset when he was the first one to be eliminated among their group. He blamed the incident where he was bitten twice by snakes in one of the stunts.

He explained, "Sad nga na na-out ako but then I was telling kanina na parang once you have an injury talaga, malaking bagay ang injury when you're doing the stunts. Sana hindi na lang 'yong car, kasi 'yong support tumatama siya dito sa sugat ko. Talagang magalaw."

With this, Jose admitted that instead of conquering his fears, another one was added—fear of snakes.

"At the start I was enjoying lang everything," Jose started narrating. "I wouldn't expect na I would be scared of snakes kasi I collect pets at home, e. Kaya kong humawak siguro [ng snakes] pero I won't enter a tank of snakes."

Despite this bad experience, Jose still thinks that his whole Pinoy Fear Factor experience have become very positive especially now that people start to recognize him.

"It's flattering na people know me when I go to the mall. Medyo mahiyain po kasi ako, so medyo sometimes hindi ko natatanggal ang expression ko sa face na parang nakasimangot palagi. But then I realized na people know who I am so I have to like smile all the time," ended Jose.

PFF’s Jose Sarasola says his family got affected by his rumored ‘video scandal’

Galing pala sa Buena Familia ang Pinoy Factor Participante na si Jose Sarasola kaya’t shocking na agad sa kanyang ama ang ultimo pagpapa-sexy niya sa pictorial ng show.

Natawa na lang ang eliminated Pinoy Fear Factor Participante na si Jose Sarasola nu’ng bansagan na ‘holy family’ ang kanyang pamilya sa presscon ng nabanggit na reality show sa Primetime Bida ng ABS-CBN. Sa pakikipanayam naman ng ABS-CBN.com kay Jose sinagot niya ang mga isyung ikinakabit sa kanya. “Hindi naman,” nakangiting sabi ni Jose sa term na ito. “But I’m friendly to everyone. I get along naman po. But I go to church every Sunday. My Dad is Spanish. Pure po so, he follows the old days. My Mom does charity work in Alabang. Saka I joined Gawad Kalinga. Gawad Kalinga got me for this event next week. So, I’m happy na they got me.”

Sumali daw si Jose sa Fear Factor for the adventure. May mga gusto daw siyang maranasan na di maeexperience ng ordinaryong tao lamang. “I just want to try something new talaga. Kasi it’s fun, eh. Parang you’ll never hang in a helicopter, enter a tank. Eh, in my whole life hindi na mangyayari ito.” Dumaan rin daw siya sa usual na proseso ng audition tulad ng ibang contestants. “It’s a month long audition. Medical test, physical. Pumila po talaga ako. It was fun talaga. Meeting new people while lining-up.

Isa sa mga stunts na ginawa ni Jose na ikina-eliminate niya ay ang encounter niya sa mga ahas. Kaya imbes daw na ma-conquer niya ang kanyang takot ay lalo pa siyang nagka-phobia sa ahas nu’ng aksidenteng may makatuklaw sa kanya. “Ah, yeah, that’s a good point. Na parang at first I was enjoying lang, ganun. But then, I wouldn’t expect na I would be scared with snake when I had a snake bite.”

After showing off skin sa PFF, Jose is seriously debating kung papasukin ba niya ang mundo ng agpapaseksi sa showbiz. Malaking factor kasi ditto ay ang kanyang father. “Ah, well, ‘yun nga with my Dad naging isyu nga. Pero siguro topless lang. Maybe ganu’n lang.” Sure si Jose sa pagtutol ng kanyang tatay sa pagpapakita ng underwear kaya’t malamang daw ay hindi ito mangyari. Isyu na nga raw noong makita ng kanyang ama ang billboard para sa PFF kung saan naka-seksi pose pa sila ng ibang Participantes. “Uhm, ‘yun nga at the start hindi naman po talagang expect na magga-ganu’n ako, topless, topless. But then, wala na, no choice. My Dad just saw the billboard. ‘Oh, what’s that? There in ‘Fear Factor? You’re going to be topless there? Hubad-hubad?’ Sabi ko, ‘No, Dad.’ Kasi he can’t speak Tagalog, e. Sabi ko, ‘It’s just a shoot lang Dad to advertise the show. So, kailangan.’” Hindi naman daw nagalit ng kanyang ama na ang trabaho ay head ng isang billion peso project saPhilippine National Railways. “Ah, hindi naman. Na-shocked lang.” Pero kung nalaman ng Dad niya beforehand na amgsusuot siya ng brief malamang daw na hindi siya payagan. “Well, after the scandal that came out medyo na-ano na siya, ‘See, you join showbiz. Tingnan mo ang nangyari, ganu-ganun.” Apektado daw kasi yung pamilya niya nu’ng mapagbintangan na siya ‘yung lalaki sa isang sex video at litrato na nakahubad. “Yeah. My Mom talaga, was sad talaga. Pero ‘yun nga I assured them na hindi ako. ‘Tsaka hindi po talaga ako. That’s why I got shocked. Parang the show didn’t air yet pero may scandal na. So, then I assumed na parang since people don’t know what I look like yet, sinabi ‘Ay, si Jose ‘yan.’ Pero once the show started airing they could tell naman na malayo sa hitsura.” What if makita ulit siya ng Daddy niya s aisang billboard na nakausot ng brief? “Well, it depends or what. But then I don’t think he’ll really approve. But then, ‘yun nga if something as good like Bench ,e, ‘di why not? I guess, you can be in maong and topless. That’s good enough rather than underwear. Come what may.”

Sa pagpasok ni Jose sa showbiz, maraming tao ang willing magbigay ng advice sa kanya. “Ah, well, ‘yun nga we’re getting advice from a lot of people. Kasi ‘yun nga, si Edu Manzano best friend ng Dad ko. Si Boy Abunda family friend. So, parang I ask everything kung ano ang gagawin ko.” Just in case, ano’ng genre ang gusto niyang pasukin sa showbiz? “Well, they were saying na hindi raw pang-seksi or comedy ang face ko. More of pang-love team, pang-heartthrob.” If he had a choice, pipiliin daw ni Jose na makapareha si Anne Curtis.

Pinoy Fear Factor participante Jose Sarasola open to showbiz offers

Even before the start of the ABS-CBN reality show Pinoy Fear Factor, Fil-Spanish "participante" Jose Sarasola has already hit the entertainment headlines when people started linking him to the nude photos and video of an unidentified man, which circulated on the Internet. (Click here to read related article.)

Although Jose already denied that he was the guy in the said photos and video, the entertainment press still asked him about it during the media junket prepared for the six eliminated "participantes" of Pinoy Fear Factor last January 14.

In an interview, the 22-year-old student said that he was really clueless why he was linked to the said scandal.

"At the start po I was shocked, parang I was wondering na the show didn't even air yet, but then these things comes out about me. At first, well, my parents were shocked talaga about it. Pero me, I knew talaga in my heart na hindi talaga ako 'yon, so it was easy to accept," he said to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal).

The issue did not only affect him but also his parents, especially his Spanish father, who later on questioned his decision to join Pinoy Fear Factor.

Jose related, "My dad talaga got really angry na, ‘Why did you join this show? Look what's happening now! When you join showbiz, these things come out, scandals!' ganyan-ganyan. A couple of days after that, when I was convincing him na hindi naman talaga ako."

He continued, "After the scandal, parang na-ano na siya, na parang, ‘See, you joined showbiz, tingnan mo ang nangyayari.' My mom talaga was sad talaga pero I assure them naman na hindi ako. I really don't know why it came out parang malas lang na ako ang napili, di ba?"

Instead of being disappointed, Jose said that he just let the issue die down and did not bother to find out where the issue started. "Hindi na po [inimbistegahan] kasi hindi naman po talaga ako. I didn't find a way to look for the person, kasi hindi naman talaga ako, e," he repeated.

After his stint in Pinoy Fear Factor, everything went back to normal in Jose's life. The aspiring chef continued his Culinary Arts course in La Salle College of St. Benilde and is expected to graduate next month.

As of now, the aspiring chef is still thinking whether he would put up his own restaurant or would try his luck in showbiz.

With his father being shocked by the scandal issue, will he still be allowed to enter show business?

"Well, my dad naman, he learned from that na as long as you're not in there, whatever they're saying, basta hindi ikaw, okay lang," Jose quipped.

So, does this mean he's now ready to be part of the showbiz industry?

"If offers come up, yeah. I tried Fear Factor, so showbiz is parang another challenge. So why not try it as well?" answered Jose.

Pinoy Fear Factor’s Elmer Felix and Jose Sarasola expose Manuel Chua’s true colors

After getting eliminated from Pinoy Fear Factor: Argentina, South America, Jose Sarasola and Elmer Felix had a few revelations. According to the two members of the Pump Squad, there is more to the humble and well-mannered image that Manuel projects on TV. Kapampangan veterinarian Elmer revealed that Manuel even talked trash about him and said, “You’re going down, Doc.”

Jose and Elmer denied that they had anything against Manuel. “Si Elmer ang nagsabi na narinig niya si Manuel na nagsabingm ‘Doc, you’re going down.’ I didn’t really hear anything so I have no idea about that issue. As a fellow Pump Squad I was on Elmer’s side. But I don’t hate naman Manuel,” said Jose, the half-Spanish aspiring chef.

Elmer claimed Manuel did say those words to him during the middle of the Quinta Ronda De Eliminacion. “Noong malalaman na kung sino ‘yung papasok sa elimination at ako lang ‘yung Pump Squad na manganganib nagpaparamdam na sa akin si Manuel na, ‘Doc, you’re going down.’ Hindi ko lang alam that time kung nagjo-joke or totoo basta hindi ko na lang sineryoso. Noong nasa last stunt na (the Houdini escape) naramdaman ko agad na parang pagkakaisahan ako (nina Manuel at LJ Moreno) kasi Pump Squad ako. Narinig ko si Manuel na nagsabi na, ‘Uy, pabagsakin natin si Doc,’” Elmer told ABS-CBN.com.

Remaining Pump Squad members Jommy Teotico and RJ Calipus are now left to challenge Manuel for the title of El Ultimo Participante. After surviving six elimination rounds, struggling Cabanatuan businessman Manuel broke two Fear Factor world records, first in the Slippery Car stunt and second in the Helicopter Buoy Flag challenge. Jose said that the Pump Squad’s goal of taking down Manuel was just for the competition. “At the start, we didn’t really have any plans na pabagsakin si Manuel. But when he kept on winning in all the stunts every time we thought na it would be more fun kung ang matitira is puro Pump Squad and ma-out muna si Manuel kasi magaling siya. Hindi naman talaga namin goal na tanggalin siya. It’s just that he’s really the guy to beat since he broke many records na rin.”

But now that Pinoy Fear Factor is over for the two, all has been forgiven between the Pump Squad and Manuel. “Friends na kami ni Manuel. Lahat naman kami. Minsan kasi nag-iinit lang ‘yung ulo dahil sa mga stunt. Like ako galit na galit ako nung na-eliminate ako. Nainis ako kasi parang pinagkaisahan ako. Pero tapos na ‘yun,” said Elmer.

Janna clings for dear life in "Pinoy Fear Factor"

The January 12 episode of Pinoy Fear Factor: Argentina, South America was a cliffhanger—literally.

Viewers could only watch in horror as Janna Dominguez clung for dear life during the first stunt of Ronda Sin Eliminación 2 (Non-elimination Round 2). The six remaining participantes had to traverse a net hanging under a moving helicopter. They had to get back inside the helicopter and press the button to stop the clock.

When it was Janna's turn to do the stunt, she was able to reach the middle part of the net. While she was hanging upside down, her foot got caught in one portion of the net and she struggled desperately to untangle herself. After being suspended in the air for some time, Janna got tired and let her head and arms drop downward.

An Argentinian staff member onboard a jet ski and attempts to free her from the net. All the while, Janna is still suspended from the net with only one foot supporting her entire body weight. It takes some time for the Argentinian staff to untangle her foot completely. The helicopter hovers noisily over the lake and Janna's head is submerged for a few seconds underneath the water as the crew help free her.

Finally, she drops into the water and she floats back up because of her life vest. As soon as she is onboard a lifeboat, a teary-eyed Janna said, "Ang sakit ng paa ko pero pinilit ko pa rin abutin yung lambat kahit isang paa na lang ang nakasabit."

She felt bad about the incident and later added: "Naiyak ako

hindi dahil sa sakit kung hindi dahil hindi ko nagawa ang stunt. Wala akong
pakialam sa paa ko!"

Pinoy Fear Factor host Ryan Agoncillo told the rest of the participantes, "Malaya kayong pumili kung gusto n'yong umatras sa hamon.

"Mahigpit ang laban dito sa Fear Factor pero una pa rin ang inaalala ang inyong kaligtasan. I-injectionan si Janna para sa pagpahupa ng maga ng kanyang paan. Dadalhin siya sa ospital para i-Xray. Walang pilitin dito sa Fear Factor."
According to a doctor, Janna could have suffered from strained muscles and/or
torn ligaments.

Ryan then asked RJ Calipus and Savanah Lamsen if they were still willing to try the helicopter stunt. RJ agreed to go first but he fell down almost immediately.

On the second stunt of the non-elimination round, the participantes held their breath inside a container filled with milk. Watch for the next challenge, when the Argentine crew panics for the first time after a participante almost figured in a freak accident in the "Car Container Re-Entry" stunt.

LJ Moreno recalls her last stunt in "Pinoy Fear Factor"

Nasa U.S. si LJ Moreno nang mapanood niya ang Pinoy Fear Factor, kung saan siya ang pang-anim na natanggal sa mga el particpante. Ayon kay LJ, bagama't matagal na nila itong ginawa, hindi raw niya maiwasang hindi pa rin malungkot nang mapanood ito.

"It's so funny because I'm in Los Angeles now. Pero nang mapanood ko nga yung elimination episode ko, na-sad pa rin ako," kuwento ni LJ sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) througn the Internet.

Na-eliminate si LJ sa challenge na "inverted bungee jump." Pero nawala man siya sa Pinoy Fear Factor earlier than the six remaining participantes, worth it daw para kay LJ ang mga naging experience niya sa naturang reality show na kinunan sa Argentina.

"It was really amazing!" bulalas niya. "I thank God every morning for allowing me to be part of the show. Ang dami kong natutunan and I made some really good friends, all of us became really close, especially the last seven participantes and Jose [Sarasola]."

Si Jose ang pang-apat na na-eliminate sa kanila.

Ayon kay LJ, they were not allowed to be seen together bago mag-start ang Pinoy Fear Factor. Pero nang ma-reveal na raw ang mga participante ay dun na sila todo-gimik talaga.

Ang last challenge, kung saan siya na-eliminate, ang pinaka-hindi raw makakalimutan ni LJ.

"Yung stunt noong na-eliminate ako, up to now, I still catch myself re-enacting it in my head and trying to hold my breath, because the stunt was patagalan ng hininga habang nakabitin nang patiwarik under water! Plus the part that I had to do the stunt twice, kasi di ako nalagyan ng nose clip!"

Next week ay pauwi na rin daw siya ng Pilipinas, pero more than a month din daw siyang nakapagbakasyon at nakapag-travel sa iba't ibang lugar sa States.

"Vacation lang talaga! I went to Hawaii for a week noong December 15. Then, nag- LA to spend the holidays with my brother and mom, then Las Vegas for New Year tapos San Francisco, and some day trips to other places.

"Super ine-enjoy ko lang yung time ko, because it's my first time here in six years na single ako! So, I'm free to go anywhere na walang iniisip," lahad ni LJ.

Speaking of being single, kasama si LJ sa pelikulang Status: Single ng Viva Films, na pinagbibidahan ng kaibigan niyang si Rufa Mae Quinto. In real life, one year na raw unattached si LJ. Her last relationship was with Talk ‘N Text player Jimmy Alapag.

Phoemela Baranda appreciates recognition in "Pinoy Fear Factor"

"Adventurous lang talaga ako," TV host Phoemela Baranda said about her decision to join the first Pinoy Fear Factor. In an interview with her after the media junket for six eliminated "participantes" yesterday, January 14, at the 9501 Restaurant in ABS-CBN Compound, Quezon City, the TV Patrol star patroller said that she really wanted to experience the game in Argentina.

"Ano talaga kasi ako, e, adventurous, adrenaline junkie. Of course, sa TV Patrol at The Buzz happy na ako. Pero hinahanap din ng katawan ko 'yong adventure. Kaya sabi ko, ‘Naku,ito na, chance ko na 'to.' Pagdating ko naman doon, sobrang hirap naman pala."

In Argentina, the TV host knew that they'd be doing the same stunts done by other Fear Factor contestants from other countries. She narrated, "Noong nalaman ko na Pinoy Fear Factor, the more na gusto kong sumali. Noong una sabi ko, ‘Wow, Fear Factor. Scary, nakakatakot siya.' 'Tapos noong nalaman ko na Pinoy Fear Factor, ‘Baka madali 'yan.' Pero nalaman ko, Argentina! Same stunts
sa nakikita natin sa TV. Kaya siya dinala sa Argentina, it's because naka-rig na pala ang mga stunts doon, naka-ready na."

Aside from the tough stunts, Phoem also learned that the ladies would not be given a special treatment during the competition. "For me, noong una, akala ko iba 'yong babae sa lalaki. Even 'yong gender, wala, babae, lalaki, pantay."

But Phoem didn't think of the no-special-treatment as hindrance in winning the P2 million cash prize and the title El Ultimo Participante. In fact, she was confident that she could do most of the assigned stunts.

Phoem said that it was just unfortunate that the last two stunts before she was eliminated were two of her weaknesses.

"Actually, 'yong stunts na 'yon, nagkasunod na medyo 'yon ang weakness ko. Kumbaga, ilagay mo ako doon sa car na lumilipad, 'tapos ipapasok 'yong kotse tulad ng ginagawa nila ngayon, 'yon ang gustung-gusto kong gawing stunt."

After this experience, would she still join a similar reality show?

She answered, "Gusto ko talagang bumalik. Gusto kong bumalik ng Pilipinas tapos mag-aral mag-swim at mag-bike, 'tapos bumalik doon. Kasi parang naging confident ako na ‘Sige, matapang ako, matapang ako.' Pero kinulang ako sa skills."

TORN BETWEEN ADVENTURE AND TV JOB. Phoem admitted during the interview that when she learned that she qualified to be one of the "participantes," she feared about leaving her hosting job in The Buzz and TV Patrol.

"It actually scared me a bit because I had to leave [TVPatrol] and The Buzz," she related. "Actually, 'yon ang pinakanakakatakot kasi I have to make paalam. Hindi ko puwedeng sabihin kung saan ako pupunta, that's the hardest part. But I
believe kasi at that time Pinoy Fear Factor talaga, I really wanted to try and I really wanted to join."

She continued, "Actually, pinagpaalam ko muna bago naman ako... Noong tinanggap ako ng Fear Factor, sinabi ko, ‘Paano 'to?' Kasi, akala ko parang Fear Factor style sa States na isang araw lang 'tapos tapos na. Then, noong nalaman ko lahat ng details—Argentina, one month—doon ako natakot at saka nahiya na iwanan ang trabaho ko."

Phoem didn't deny that this has somehow bothered her while she was in Argentina. However, she clarified that she really wanted to get eliminated to go back to the country right away.

As an eliminated "participante," the showbiz talk show host revealed that she didn't get any consolation prize. In fact, she said, "Kung natalo ka, siyempre talo ka talaga. Wala talaga."

Despite this, Phoem was still thankful that she was part of the show because it gave her added exposure. She said, 'Yong mga nangyayari sa amin ngayon, ang dami kong nakukuhang work because nagkaroon ako ng recognition talaga, ‘O sumali sa Fear Factor 'yan.' Sa mga hosting, ang title ko Star Patroller, The Buzz, and Fear Factor participante."

She even added later, "After doing it, it really helped me also. Paglabas ko sa [Pinoy Fear Factor] they really recognized me, ‘Sa Pinoy Fear Factor ka rin, ang galing mo pala at matapang ka rin pala'.
So, it really gave me a lot of compliments. And I hope it will help me more in the future kasi talagang iba rin 'yong experience. Iba rin talaga 'yong opportunity."

NO WEDDING PLANS. When she was chosen to become a participate, Phoem had to it a secret, except for some of her close relatives like her parents. Of course, she also informed her four-year boyfriend Ira Cruz, guitarist of local band Bamboo, about Pinoy Fear Factor.

Phoem said that Ira did not question her participation in reality show. Her mom worried about her safety.

"Pinayagan naman niya ako," Phoem said. "Hindi naman nakikialam with regard sa career ko. Ang sabi lang niya, ‘Kaya mo
ba 'yon?' Mommy ko naman, nagwo-worry baka mamaya ano ang mangyari sa akin. Pero siyempre, sabi ko hindi ko naman papasukin 'yon kung hindi ko kaya. Si Ira naman is very supportive."

Regarding her romantic relationship with Ira Cruz, Phoem was asked if they have plans to settle down. "Wala pa nga, e," she replied.

Phoem explained that they both agreed to focus first on their career. "'Yon ang pinagkakasundo namin, e. Pareho naming alam na ang dami naming kailangang gawin. Siya, sa career niya, ngayon lang naman talaga sila naghi-hit. Ilang years na rin si Ira naggigitara."

In the end she noted, "For me, nowadays, angpagpapakasal kasi hindi madali. I have to be really, really sure. Kasi mas mahirap 'yong hindi ka sure 'tapos maghihiwalay kayo."

LJ Moreno is sixth person eliminated from "Pinoy Fear Factor"

Pinoy Fear Factor: Argentina, South America lost another contender when LJ Moreno was eliminated during the sexta ronda de eliminacion.

In the first stunt, the participantes had to climb up one log and then balance themselves on top of five other logs before they could grab the yellow flag from each log. The fastest to do the stunt will get iwas-peligro (immunity) from the elimination, while the biggest loser will suffer a serious consequence. Savanah Lamsen was unable to climb up the first log so she was automatically placed in the bottom three contestants.

The second stunt had a PFF candy store but instead of serving chocolate or candy, there were insects, rodents and various creatures served to the participantes. Manuel Chua had to eat one mouse, two cockroaches, five maggots, five scorpions, as well as earthworms. Jommy Teotico of the Pump Squad suffered from a swollen lip when a scorpion stung him. Still, he was able to consume 20 scorpions. LJ Moreno could barely swallow the 20 cockroaches that she was assigned to eat. Meanwhile, Janna Dominguez was tasked to eat 20 worms.

In the final stunt, they had to complete the inverted bungee stunt, which involved holding one's breath underwater while hanging upside down and holding a weight. Former actress LJ had to face her fear of depths twice in this stunt because of miscommunication problems.

LJ insisted that she wasn't offered a nose clip on her first try, when she had a time of 12 seconds. The stunt team, however, said they offered her but she refused. The nose clip proved beneficial to the other contenders.

After reviewing the video and seeing no offer was made, Pinoy Fear Factor host Ryan Agoncillo allowed her to do it again to be fair. A teary-eyed Savanah was initially against giving friend LJ another crack at the stunt, knowing she would be eliminated if LJ did better. However, Ryan assured Savanah that she can also repeat the stunt if she wanted to. She didn't have to. LJ could only go breathless for 11 seconds on her second try.

Her co-participantes Manuel clocked in 1:18, Janna stayed for 39 seconds, and Savanah was submerged for 19 seconds before she let go of the huge weight.

The actress turned preschool teacher is the sixth eliminado after veterinarian Elmer, aspiring chef Jose Sarasola, model-TV host Phoemela Baranda, basketball hunk Ram Sagad, and sexy model Gail Nicolas.

"I can go home able to say that I gave my all in every stunt. I was able to face all my fears, and that alone is a big achievement for me," said LJ.

With her physical strength, confidence and competitive spirit, LJ was one of the participantes favored to be the first El Ultimo Participante who will take home P2 million and a house and lot. However, the former "pump squad killer" couldn't pull off another breathtaking performance in a stunt that left her gasping for breath.

Moving on in the competition are the "SAISTIG" (Sais na Astig) composed of struggling businessman Manuel Chua, balikbayan Marion Cruz, model Jommy Teotico, kargador RJ Lapus, stand-up comedienne Janna Dominguez, and ledge dancer Savanah.

One of them will break a "Fear Factor" world record this week, while another will undergo an accident that will change the tone of the contest.

Watch the remaining six participantes take on more terrifying and gut wrenching stunts in the name of pride and for the sake of their loved ones on Pinoy Fear Factor with host Ryan Agoncillo from Monday to Friday after Eva Fonda. Highlights of the competition are aired on PFF: Special Edition every Saturday, 7 p.m. on Studio 23.

"Pinoy Fear Factor" stunts resume Jan 1

Viewers can relive the grueling, stomach-churning, and harrowing stunts in Pinoy Fear Factor: Argentina South America, every Saturday on Studio 23. Last night, December 27, fans of ABS-CBN's reality show were treated to hilarious replays and comedic analyses of the highlights of last season's first five elimination rounds.

The reality game show is usually hosted by Ryan Agoncillo but for the special edition, it was voiced over by comedian Marc Logan.

First to be run over on this hilarious retrospect were the participantes who had to tap their balancing skills as they rolled logs in a river. This first stunt not only displayed the contestants' physical skills but also their outrageous bathing suits: Savanah Lamsen who wore a sparkling green bikini while Jommy Teotico opted to wear his blue and white striped boy-leg trunks.

A stunning revelation during these series of flashbacks was the LJ Moreno and boy-next-door Maxi fairy tale. Apparently, this previously-heartbroken Filipina pre-school teacher was smitten by the Argentinian crew member of the Fear Factor team. Maxi who, despite his obvious incapability to pronounce her name correctly (El-Jee!), was chosen by Ryan Agoncillo to be her incentive in finishing the second task: the urban style Tarzan swing, with Maxi at the finish line.

Having missed Filipino fare since they first stepped on Argentinean soil, the participants were treated to a gag-inducing Argentinian breakfast of sheep's eyes and brains. Each of them were to eat a plateful, and none were allowed to throw up until ALL of the participants had finished their task. Viewers could either pity the participants' plight, or laugh at the various mind tricks and techniques that each contestant used in order to either push their opponents to the brink of throwing up, or to simply concentrate and finish the disgusting task at hand. At the end of it all, even the men were caught sticking their fingers into their throats in hopes of purging the breakfast they had just ingested.

And what's a Fear Factor show without a helicopter-hanging stunt, one in which participants could either be seen in their most macho, or were forced to curl up like babies with stomach cramps, just to hang on for dear life—and the grand prize of P50,000! In this stunt, the first macho man to go home would be Ram Sagad, but it was the veterinarian, Elmer Felix, who was caught on-cam practically dancing left and right while hanging on the helicopter.

The third stunt, collecting yellow rubber rings in a tankful of water, seemed easy enough—until Ryan revealed that dozens of snakes would be swimming with the participantes. This elicited unexpected shrieks and shudders from even the bravest of the lot, but it turned out that aspiring chef Jose Sarasola was at the receiving end of the snake bites! He was bitten three times, proof maybe that he had in him a sort of unforgettable, reptilian appeal.

In the Cuarta Ronda de Eliminacion, a stunt that involved different-level beams hanging from a special Paolini crane, struggling businessman Manuel Chua was able to complete the stunt with a record time of 1:50 seconds. As the high-beam balancing stuntman avoided the next stunt by gaining immunity, his co-competitors cringe in disgust as they are forced into a special task of transferring Argentine cockroaches from one bin to another—using only their mouths. Que horror!

In the Quinta Ronda de Eliminacion, participants were asked to jump off another Paolini crane, and considering that they had just kissed those sweet Argentine cockroaches from the previous round, this would be a pretty easy stunt...but it was not. Various cameras focused on the hilarious landings of each participant as they jumped from the top of the crane onto a huge hanging net across from it. In the end, Marion dela Cruz, who had the most difficult time completing the jump, had to face the consequence: wearing a bikini as he served dinner to his fellow participantes!

Marion dela Cruz denies being gay

Marion dela Cruz is creating quite a stir in Pinoy Fear Factor: Argentina, South America because of his antics. The young balikbayan from Austria played being gay a lot, leaving the other Participantes to wonder if he really was one. ABS-CBN.com spoke with Marion last December 9 at the Maxim 2009 Calendar Party where his fellow Participantes LJ Moreno, Janna Dominguez, Savanah Lamsen, and Gail Nicolas were guests as part of Maxim’s December issue. Phoemela Baranda was also one of the hosts that night. Marion could only laugh when he was reminded of his “gay” ways.

“Palabiro lang talaga ako. Pero napunta din sa point na ‘yung mga guys hindi na nila alam kung nagbibiro pa ba ako o totoo na. Hindi nila alam kung bading nga ba talaga ako. Pero abangan niyo sa Pinoy Fear Factor ang mga mangyayari. May twist sa ending (laughs),” Marion explained. In one PFF episode when Marion landed in the bottom of the ranking in a stunt, he was tasked with the consequence to serve his peers their dinner while wearing a two-piece bikini with a wig and makeup. The Participantes could not stop laughing as they watched Marion go into overzealous waitress mode.

Marion could not reveal much about PFF as the show taped in Argentina last August is still currently airing. Nevertheless, he shared how pleased he was with the positive response from people who recognize him whether he’s in the mall or just walking down the street. “Happy ako na kapag may nakakasalubong akong mga tao ngumingiti naman sila. Positive ‘yung response nila. Pero siyempre tinatanong nila ako, ‘Marion, totoo ka bang bakla?’ (laughs). Sinasabi ko biro ko lang ‘yung mga ‘yun. Palabiro lang kasi ako at hindi ko pinagsisisihan ‘yun kasi hindi naman ako nakasakit ng tao. Abangan niyo kung ano ang mga mangyayari.”

The 21-year-old student also commented on the rivalry between strongest contender Manuel Chua and the heckler leader of the Pump Squad Jommy Teotico. The Pump Squad’s main goal is to take down Manuel who for them is the biggest threat in the competition. “Okay rin ‘yung ginagawa ng Pump Squad na trash talk kay Manuel. Siyempre competition so ang gusto mong matanggal ‘yung pinakamalakas, e si Manuel ‘yun. Ganun talaga si Jommy. Nakasama ko ‘yun, super hyper na hindi napapagod. ‘Yun lang ang ugali niya pero wala naman siya mine-mean sa mga sinasabi niya. Isa siya sa mga pinaka-close ko at si Manuel din.”
